Tap at Smoke & Barrel. Clear deep orange. Sheety white lace. Nose is dusty, perfumey, black pepper, fresh tomato. Taste is very light, mildly bitter, little to no body, black pepper, tomato skin. Bitter, buttery palate. Ultra light body. Feels like 2%. Mild bourbon butteriness from Copper Fox rye barrel. Interesting experiment. Don't think it works though. This beer needs work as well. Too soapy and very bland.

Draft. Clear apple juice body, small off-white head. Aroma is moderately sweet, grapefruit, some orange. Taste is moderately sweet, grapefruit, some rye, light bread. Light-medium body, somewhat watery. craftycarl21 (2338) - Seattle, Washington, USA - JUL 19, 2012
Draft at Churchkey. Hazy peach pour with a small bubbly head. Nose holds decent evergreen spruce and cedar along with lemongrass, but I don’t think the barrel really complements the beer much. OK. radagast83 (8019) - Alexandria, Virginia, USA - JUL 18, 2012
Draft at Churchkey. This one poured a medium-dark orange color with a small, wispy, white head. Aroma was a lot more mild and subdued than the regular version of Ground Wolf. Some barrel, a little vanilla, a touch of mellowed hops. Nice sessionable, and it sure did do a lot better than I expected for being barrel aged, but perhaps the original is a bit better. nimbleprop (8297) - SouthWest, Washington, Washington DC, USA - JUL 18, 2012
4oz pour clear orange with spitty white head. Nose is weird, spruce, pine, juniper, cedar, some white lightening. Flavor is sweet, pine, spruce, juniper, light malt, heavy soap. Surprised at the soap and cedar notes. The base beer is awesome, this is weird.
