3.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 13/20
4oz pour at DC Brau’s 3rd Anniversary Party at Meridian Pint. Pours a clear, burnt orange with some fluffy, white head. Nose has a bit of that familiar hoppiness mixed with some malt, but there is a definite pepper aroma lurking. As it warmed, a little of those tropical and persimmon notes came out in the aroma. Flavor hits you with the bright habanero kick right off the bat, spicy, acidic, lightly fruity, the Wings malt backbone is there but the hops are dead, pink peppercorn, a flash of tropical fruit. Full bodied, very spicy finish. A bit much for me.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Draft at Meridian Pint for the DC Brau 3rd Anniversary party. Poured a clear orange color with a slightly foamy white head. Aroma was citrus, with notes of mild pepper fruit. Some notes of habanero flesh, especially as it warmed. Flavor retained a lot of malt character, but hops have understandably died down. Nice mild heat, but nothing super heavy. First beer to kick apparently at the party.
