Pours a hazy, bright golden orange/tangerine color with lighter apricot colored edges and a one finger frothy white head that very quickly settles into a thin, lasting ring. Sporadic spotty lacing left behind. Very nice color but the retention isn’t very good.
Floral earthy hop aroma with dank resins, fresh cut grass and earthy pine countered by candied topical fruit sweetness a sweet malt backbone and a touch of booze. Earthy quality isn’t as strong as suspected with some grass and pine but the citrus/tropical fruit presence really stands out with melons, pineapple, ruby red grapefruit and candied orange peel. Sweet caramel malts wih some toffee, biscuit and a grainy cracker presence. A little malt heavy for my preference but otherwise smells pretty good.
Full bodied with a blast of dank, sticky hop bitterness that lingers over the sweeter notes, malt backbone and boozy sweetness into a bone dry finish. The earthy bitterness and dank, resinous hop character is much stronger than the nose suggests with dank, sticky nugs, grassy pine and spruce up. This is countered by sweet tropical/citrus fruit. Again, it’s very sweet with an almost candied fruit slice character that provides a nice counter to the earthy bitterness. Juicy blood orange and curaçao along with lemon curd and candied fruit slice. Sweet malt backbone with caramel, toffee and faint toast. Strong boozy sweetness in the finish with lot of alcohol flavor and a decent amount of heat. I usually don’t enjoy his but it doesn’t interfere with the juicy hop flavors too much. Still, this beer would be amazing if it was a touch less malty and the booze was toned downed three or four notches. BierMeHoos (587) - Maryland, USA - NOV 11, 2015
Where: Old Line Fine Wine Spirits & Bistro. How: draft snifter pour. Appearance is cloudy and golden yellowish, small off white head. Aroma is citrus and floral hops, a little grapefruit and lemon. Taste was very malty, not as much hops as I thought there would be. Palate was medium. Overall was a little underwhelmed, not sure if the pour I got was a bit muddled. Need to try again sometime, just in case this was just a bad pour. Erzengel (8769) - Wuppertal, GERMANY - NOV 6, 2015
Many thanks to travlr for this can! Nice intense floral and not too sticky Imperial IPA. Nice darker floralness, pine, resin combined with hints of sweetish malt. Nice and round, full-bodied with nice hop-character. Good example of this style! jmgreenuk (9459) - Kuala Lumpur, MALAYSIA - OCT 27, 2015

Hazy, yellow-orange colour with medium head and nice lacing. Very intensive and long lasting aroma of citrus and exotic fruits (lots of grapefruit, mango, peaches), some floral and piney notes. Awesome in aroma! Taste is medium sweet, medium to heavy bitter with long balanced finish. Full body. Aboslutely fantastic imperial IPA, perfectly balanced and highly drinkable. mR_fr0g (12128) - Hertfordshire, ENGLAND - OCT 9, 2015

Into a tulip showing a well filtered amber with no head.
The nose shows a lot of intense dry pine and cannabis.
The palate shows a lot of the same flavors with a very sharp and cutting pine. Light bodied, well carbonated, and a moderate bitterness. The_Osprey (8010) - Richmond, Greater London, ENGLAND - OCT 1, 2015
Can, 9.2%, thanks to Travlr for my first Washington DC beer! Hazy orange, some suspended particles, still, small foamy white head. Aroma is passionfruit, tangerine, pine. Body is medium to light, tingly carbonation, slightly foamy. Taste is piney, straw, dry and chalky finish. Decent enough DIPA. Very quaffable.
