COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
"Zehn von Zehn" is DC Brau and Port City’s take on a traditional German style Dunkel. The name, which translates to "10 by 10," references Washington, DC’s original 10 mile by 10 mile border that included all of Alexandria, VA. Both breweries opened their doors just weeks apart in 2011.

12 oz. can via trade with nimbleprop - thanks again! Pours a barely cloudy mahogany with a finger of beige head that settles into a thick ring and uneven film while lacing the glass heavily. Notes of nuts, brown sugar, caramel, leaves, earth, cookie, and toast. Medium-bodied, with almost no carbonation and a toasty, leafy, flat mouthfeel. Earthier flavor, sweeter nose. Not much to it, and a bit limp.

Can from the collab mix sixer at the brewery. Lager glass. Clear brown with small offwhite head. Sweet malt, nuts, brown sugar, earth. Nice and bready, like.

Where: Mixed 6 pack from Harry’s. How: 12 ounce can. Appearance: poured dark red (almost black) with a tan head. Aroma: smells like a chocolate porter. Taste: flavors follow the nose, but goes a bit more German dunkel. Palate: very light carbonation. Overall: A nice collaboration, good to try new things.

Nothing special lager, picking up anice flavor. High carbonation / cotton effect

Dark brown pour with tan head. Toffee molasses malty aroma. Malty creamy slightly roasty. Not too sweet. Very nice right on style dunkel. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Let it warm a little in order to get full effect. Roasted nutty, slight cocoa, a decent malt going down. Flavor matches scent. A bit watery, but it’s not a high ABV. Brown coloring. Mouth is light to medium. Tap

Chestnut body with a thin beige collar. Aromas of brown bread, ripe fruit, light spice, caramel malt. Similar flavor. Light sweetness with notes of brown sugar. Tasty.

transparent nut brown, thin white ring. Watery nose, light roast with dense brown malt dominating, some synthetic sugar. Burnt sugar front palate, light brown malt and sugar, mid palate grows watery with faint plastic, co2 bitterness dominating through soft end.

Deep dark brown coloured body with a thin tan head that fades very fast. Aroma of roasted malt, oatmeal, toffee, nuts, earth and a bit of chocolate coupled with some specialty grains. Medium to Full-bodied; Strong rich malt and earthy notes with some musty flavours, a bit of mushrooms and a good deal of chocolate. Aftertaste shows some oatmeal, grain, malt, mushrooms, earth and vanilla with a bit of toffee and sweetness the strongest. Overall, a fairly interesting beer that doesn’t really hit any strides or match any typical styles - this is all over the place and not in a great way. Not a bad beer by any means, but not worth a lot of money and you shouldn’t expect much from it. I sampled this 32 ounce growler fill from a few hours ago at Total Wine in Alexandria, Virginia on 08-June-2016 for US$8,49 sampled later in the evening at home in Washington on 08-June-2016.

Can from Chevy Chase Wine and Liquors. Dark black body with thin tan head. Nose is licorice, dark malts, molasses. Taste is similar of molasses, roasted malts ad licorice in the finish. Oily texture. Pretty good.
