COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The Corruption is our take on an India Pale Ale (IPA). We will corrupt your palate with dangerously drinkable malts as well as assertive piney and citrusey hop aromatics, letting some alcohol and sugars sneak through. The crimson copper color coupled with with a nose, filled with plenty of citrus fruits can’t help but bring you down to our level. This is one shady deal that you won’t be able to pass up!

12 oz can into a pint glass. A: Pours a hazy copper color. The head is pretty tall, thanks to an aggressive pour - about two fingers high and off-white in shading. It fades at a moderate rate, and leaves behind small rings of lacing on the glass. S: The aroma is absurdly biscuity. I also pick up some floral, piny hops behind it, but wow, this has one of the strongest bread-like components I’ve ever encountered in an IPA. No citrusy notes here, sadly; considering Columbus hops don’t give off much of a citrus aroma, that’s not really surprising. T: Biscuit notes trail down into the flavor profile, and cluster near the opening. Hops last throughout the flavor profile, and are very floral in nature, perhaps even nectar-esque. Finishing bitterness is mild, balanced well by the malt backbone. I have to say, it grows on me the more I drink it. M: The body is just a shade under medium. A clean, dry finish helps to scrub off any excess resin, but it will still linger slightly as more is consumed. Carbonation is about right, maybe 5% too low. O: Very well made, but not my style of IPA. I prefer the lighter-colored, citrusy versions over the coppery, crystal-malt-and-pine ones. It’s still a good IPA, especially if you’re into the latter.

Popped open a car from Total Wine, South Richmond, while being disgusted with humanity. Pours murky orange. Small off-white head. Overly resiny aroma - I know I’m not going to like this, and it seems fitting. Flavor is resin, pine, grapefruit peel, caramel malt, licorice, dirt. Yea, don’t care for it. It tastes like little thought was put into it.

Tap at Bar Symon at Dulles. Pours copper with a beige head. Aroma is piney/citrus. Med body at least. Flavor is strong pine/citrus with a roasty malt character making me think of a best bitter on steroids. Good ale.

On tap at Ellas Wood Fired Pizza in DC. Nose is a bit soapy and piney. Taste is moderately bitter and lightly sweet. Soapy hops, caramel. Some fruits. Body is medium, carbonation moderate. Alright but definitely oldschool.

Light bronze pour, off white head. Nose is malt and cedar. Bitter. Middle is dank bitterness, nice medium malt backbone, and some bark. Finish is evenly bitter.

Pours a clear golden orange on tap with bubbly off-white head that leaves moderate lace. Aroma of mild piney hops with a hint of caramel malt. Taste follows, clean and simple old school east coast IPA, like 2 hearted light. Not bad but not exciting.

Draft. Orangeish gold in color with a white head and lacing. Hoppy aroma and taste with notes of grapefruit. Moderately bitter.

Can from Greg g. Nose is floral hop usual stuff. Body is a bit thin and heavy on hop without a ton of balance. Usual citrus rind and grapefruit hints there without much sugar. Pretty dry and Ibu is up there. Not the best IPA but would be interested in it on tap.

12oz can. Poured an amber color with a small sized off white head. Pine, citrus and some toastiness. Body I would say on the thinner side.

Cask Third of a Pint at GBBF 2014, Olympia, London Aug 2014 - Dark Amber in colour. No head. Hoppy; piney resinous hops; good hop hit. Fruity; grapefruit citrus and some tropical fruit. Malty; caramel malts. Bitter-sweet hoppy citrus fruity and dry throughout. Decent. (2014-08-12)
