(DC Brau The Public) Can 355 ml from trade with vipinvelp, thanks! Served into a tulip, ABV 6% Dark orange colour on the body, almost light amber, tall and thick off-white head, with good retention, leaving light lacing on the glass. Aroma of hops, light citrus, cookie dough, light orange peel. light perfume. Tasty, with some light malts and then hops, biscuit, orange zest, some light pine on the finish, quite bitter aftertaste with long duration. Medium thin body with a biting carbonation and satisfying dryness on the palate. Very good!

Can from Drake - thanks Dan for the throw-in, hitting a DC brew for me! Pours orangey amber with an off-white head leaving spongy lace. Aroma has citrus, caramel and pine, with some woodiness. Orange juice, light pineapple, a huge caramel malty back-end and some earth/wood bring the flavor. Medium bodied and sticky. Finishes more sweet than bitter. Solid, tasty, pale. 13.9

Draft at a bar in the DC Convention Center area. Pours golden orange with a small, super creamy head. Nice lightly floral aroma with a hint of citrus and bready malts. Flavor follows with light citrus, good bite for an APA, light caramel sweetness. Just a hint of weird aftertaste but not offputting or super unpleasant. Light to medium bodied with adequate carbonation. Good every day brew for the peeps inside the beltway.

Clear amber colour with a small frothy off-white head. Fresh hop cone aroma with some caramel malty sweetness. The flavour is a bit dark hopped with piney and resiny notes, mild bitterness and sweet caramel maltiness. A bit thin.

355ml Can from Virginia, USA as a gift:
Hoppy with some pine & tropical fruits, there is some strong citrus too & lots of bitterness. Grapefruit, orange & lemon zest come through with faint malts & caramel.
Hazy, red tinged amber with a 1.5cm, bubbly white head that leaves some lacing on the sides of the glass as it slowly reduces to a fine lacing with some build up on the sides.
Bitter with plenty of grapefruit, resinous pine & tropical fruits. Theres some citrus before some pale malts come through. The hops definitely come through most with this one & its quite refreshing.
Very bitter with a medium body, maybe a touch lighter. Carbonation is good & its quite dry, particularly at the end. I enjoyed the balance here & there was just the faintest touch of alcohol but its a very drinkable beer.

Not a bad first beer from Washington DC, this one was very enjoyable without going down as a classic. The taste and smell were certainly hop filled & well balanced with the pine and tropical flavours offset by the pale, sweet malts which could have been stronger but were pleasant ones nonetheless.
