/Brugmansia’s Cnudde tasting. Pours dark and hazy brown with a lacing white head. Mild roasted malt and a light chocolate note. Flavour is roasted malt and with a smooth chocolate note on top of this. Ends with a lingering chocolate note and a dry acidic note following.
(Bottled) Very dark brown with a small, beige head (some yeast in the bottle). Sweetish and grainy dark toffee maltiness and dark fruit in the aroma. Roasted-malty, lightly vinous, fruity and grainy-malty flavor with chocolate, and some ashiness, but low bitterness in the finish. Yeast makes the flavor quite pleasant and smooth. Medium-bodied, somewhat foamy-carbonated palate. Very balanced and quite nice overall. Rastacouere (6177) - Montreal, Quebec, CANADA - NOV 28, 2007

Comments: An original, highly spicy, roasty and coherent dark ale that does not exaggerate neither sweetness nor acidity.
Bottled(330ml). -Dark brown coloured, medium sized pale brown head, coffee chicory nose. Mild roasted malt, strong chicory and slight chocolate aroma with toffee notes. Rather sweet than bitter taste. Dry finish.

Poured a very dark red-black with a small to medium sized creamy, thick off-white head that went away slowly. The nose was nice; chicory, chocolate, coffee. The taste wasn’t far off. The same notes, chicory, cocoa and coffee, could be felt. Mild and somewhat sweet (more than it was bitter). A bit dry, with notes of herbal hops in the aftertaste. This was a very likable, drinkable, quality beer that fits in the Porter category more than it does in teh s/h/v category. All in all, way underrated.
Bottle at Arendsnest. Dark, dark brown. Fruity aroma. Quite sweet, fruit and chocolate taste. Notes of licorice. Strong finish. Caramel. Toffee flavours. MiP (15943) - Sønderborg, DENMARK - FEB 24, 2006
Bottle. Doughy yeast aroma, also vinous. Very dark brown colour, seemingly clear. Very unstable head. Roasted flavour, a little sweet hoppiness, dusty. Roasted aftertaste. Dry start, reminding me of blue or red Chimay, seems to soften a bit along the way. Coffee aftertaste. High carbonation. Lubiere (14110) - Ottawa, Ontario, CANADA - DEC 11, 2005
