3.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle from the Bierkoning Amsterdam. A bit hazy orangy color, full sized off-white head. Smell and taste malts, lightly herbs and spices, a slight bitter touch. A bit boring. Low to medium body and carbonation.
That’s what you call spring (’jump’ in Dutch)...: the beer jumps nearly out of the glass, pouring amber coloured with an exploding creme coloured head. The aroma is somewhat weird but interesting: the thyme brings something ethereal, which I can imagine not everyone will like. Malty, but also herbal (clearly thyme), something citric, and still fruity (although the label mentions little fruitiness). Taste fits to this; mild bitter and mild sweet, a small sourness, with a more dry bitter aftertaste; and again herbal/thyme. Softer carbonation than you’d expect with such an exploding beer. So an interesting spring bock; not a pleaser. zenkis (1079) - Ogre, LATVIA - JUL 19, 2017
Mashy taste with although lovely green, grassy, straw flavor of hops. Light to min bitterness. Pours unclear, brownish. If any herbs inside - didnt felt them much. Sweet taste. Franksv6 (981) - Tiel, NETHERLANDS - JUL 10, 2015
Clear amber beer with a big white head, medium carbonation.
Tastes like malt, thyme, tasty hops.
Quite a nice beer, but thyme in a beer I dont like. tricksta_p (5167) - Steenwijk, NETHERLANDS - JUL 9, 2015
Aroma of bready malt, fruits, some citrus, spicy notes, touch of tyme, hoppy notes. Flavour is moderate sweet with a moderate bittersweet finish. I don’t crave for another one, but this is a decent well-balanced spiced Maibock. Maakun (6453) - The Hague, NETHERLANDS - MAY 21, 2015
Bottle past bb date. Hazy light brown with big off-white head. Light malts, brown sugar, fresh brown bread, sunflower seeds, grapefruit juice, fudge. There’s indeed some herbs in the background but they’re quite soft, and give a light bitter finish to this quite sweet beer. There’s also a bit chemical/alcoholic notes throughout that can be because of the age. Medium bodied with full but soft carbonation. OK

Bottled. 15cl sample. The aroma has some thyme indeed, toffee malts, little floral touch and some earthy yeast tones. Hazy, orange-brown coloured beer with a medium, off-white head. The taste is sweet with lots of toffee malts and spicy yeast tones. Very heavy body, way too heavy for a spring seasonal. oh6gdx (26485) - Vasa, FINLAND - JAN 27, 2015
Bottled. Hazy amber colour, mediumsized off-white head, which leaves some lace. Aroma is herbs, spices, some malts along with some fruity notes. Flavour is quite a fruity version of the same with some nice herbal notes in the finish. Refreshing brew. blackisle (2816) - Amsterdam IJburg, NETHERLANDS - OCT 14, 2014
Bottle 33 cl. Light hazy medium amber, small frothy off-white head, collapses to a thick layer, good lacing; aroma malty, thyme, yeast, herbal, citrus; moderate bitter, slightly sweet taste, thyme; medium body, oily texture, soft carbonation; dry bittersweet finish, herbal notes. Nicely balanced beer.

Bottle, bottled 2-2013, pours hazy dark yellow with a white head. Aroma: thyme, cough syrup, very herbal. Taste: thyme, anise, honey, floral and herbal. Medium body, creamy mouthfeel. Sweet with a bitter herbal finish. Interesting beer, would be better if the thyme were slightly less dominant.

Weer zo'n waardeloze telefoonrating waar ik niets mee kan dan op het eindcijfer na. Hierbij de letterlijke tekst:
Pranje amberin witte kraag
Red zoet z boyter.
Haha. Ik kan ook al géén 2 dingen tegelijk bier proeven en een rating invoeren.
