Middle brown color with white foam head. Scent of sweet berries. Taste watery with a strange bitterness. Possible that this is the influence of the mushrooms because I can’t find it anywere else. caesar (7281) - Bunnik/Utrecht, NETHERLANDS - OCT 24, 2013
Bottled, BB 08/01/16, large sample. Slight hazy copper color, medium light brown head. Aroma is nutty, some caramel, spicy yeast, earthy. It has an aroma that is quite unfamiliar, so I guess that might be caused by the mushrooms. Quite dry mouthfeel, lots of carbonation that flushes away the flavor. It has some sweetness, bit spicy. Aroma is weird but ok, but there is little flavor because of the carbonation. Taste improves in strength while sipping, but it gets sweeter every sip now. Bottle 330 ml at home, poured into a tulip glass. ABV 7.5%
Pours a brown coloured beer, clear body with good activity in it, with a tall light brown head on top, collapsing fast for the first half but then mainting its remaining size for quite long. Light lacing on the glass.
Aroma of dark fruits, plums, dates, black grapes.
Tastes the same, lots of dark fruits, red and black grapes, reminding wine. No signs of the alcohol or the mushrooms.
Medium thin body, okay carbonation, nice dryness on the palate.
Not a bad strong belgian, not anything special either but for that price it is a bargain for the coming cold nights.

Apparently, this is brewed with mushrooms. I can’t taste them, I do taste a regular Belgian dark beer. mike_77 (7089) - Breda, NETHERLANDS - MAY 9, 2013
Clear, brown. The flavour is quite sweet with caramel and malt. Quite similar to Palm Dobbel. Too gassy.

Bottle. Thanks Bierkoning. Pours clear chestnut brown with a medium, creamy, off-white head. Aroma is very pleasant. Toasted caramel, coriander, Belgian sugar, red apples, esters, pine. Medium carbonation, dry and kinda light mouthfeel. Flavour has coriander, caramel, cloves, red apple. Quite dusty dry finish. Different and quite fine. kappldav123 (6133) - GERMANY - NOV 20, 2012
Thanks to bierkoning for that one. Bottle looks good. Beer in the glass dark brown, nice head. Starts strong, fine malty, not too roasty. Some fruity-spicy notes. Finish a bit moldy, a bit alcoholic, but still quite drinkable. Okay. erickok (6036) - Leuven, BELGIUM - OCT 15, 2012
Clean red glowing body with bubbly beige head. Spicy aroma, fresh yeast, cookie dough and earthy. No mushrooms, luckily. Foamy yet thin body, quite astringent. Somewhat grainy base and moderate taste. Overall it has a nice aroma but the taste doesn’t convince me. (33cl bottle from Berts Bierhuis) fonefan (51064) - VestJylland, DENMARK - SEP 22, 2012

Clear medium to dark amber colour with a large, frothy, good lacing, mostly to fully lasting, off-white head. Aroma is moderate to light malty, roasted, caramel, riped dark fruit, light to moderate yeasty, licorice notes. Flavour is moderate to heavy sweet and moderate bitter with a average to long duration, malt bitter, caramel, yeasty, riped dark fruit, light roasted, light licorice. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft.
Donkerbruin, kraag is snel pleite. Aroma van roggebrood en wat vaag fruit.
Ik proef wat mout en voor de rest vrij weinig. Medium body. Weinig interessant.
