Bottled. An amber beer with a thin off-white head. The aroma has strong notes of spices - star anise and cloves, as well as some notes of malt and caramel. The flavor is sweet with notes of malt, caramel, and spices - especially star anise and cloves, leading to a dry spicy finish.

Bottle at Arendsnest. Clear amber beer, good white head. Light dry palate. A little creamy malt. Some bubblegum sweetness and a trace of ginger. Sweetish dry finish. Alright.

Papsoe (25056) - Frederiksberg, DENMARK - MAR 23, 2010
Bottle 33 cl. Courtesy of fonefan. Pours a clear amber with an off-white head. Spicy nose - a little ginger I believe with some phenols as well. Solid body, some fruit and caramel again with loads of gingery spiciness. Warming alcohol in the finish - quite some actually. 230310

From 330ml bottle at ’t Arendsnest, Amsterdam on 3 April 2011. Amber colour. Prominent estery bubblegum notes in the aroma. Very sweet, with lots of spices, on the palate. Fruity malt underneath. Rather sticky mouthfeel. Not really to my taste.

3.3
Koelschtrinker (21489) - K?ln (Cologne), GERMANY - APR 12, 2014
Zitrusartiger, etwas malziger Antrunk. Deutliche Kräuternoten mit leichter Süße, fruchtig, würziger werdend. Vollmundiger Nachgeschmack, harmonisch. 9/9/10/11/8/10

3.2
Benzai (16681) - Oirschot, THE NETHERLANDS, NETHERLANDS - AUG 8, 2011
Dark amber colored beer. Don’t like the smell, something spicy in it. Good carbo and full body.
