Sampled with ChinoSkillzian, t0rin0 and Womencantsail as part of their flight - draft sample @ brewpub - sold as Dark Beer. Loots dark amber, off-white head. Smells like sweet caramel, toffee, metallic with burned sugars. Taste like Jagermeister blended with cough syrup, licorice and iron, some burned sugar and spice. Medium bodied - only one drinkable of the flight but albeit only in small sips savoring like a fine liquor.
Sampled in the brewpub in 2008, sold there at that time as Grand Place Dark. Off-white, thin, creamy, quickly dissolving head, colour yellowish bronze, cristal clear, transparent with little sparkling. Aroma of caramel, nuts, peach, orange peel, vague hints of nutmeg and liquorice. Neutral onset, quite strong carbonation, light orange touch, caramel and nut-like maltiness, thin and quite obviously without any dark malts (artificially coloured), slight hoppiness in the finish, brief. Pours amber in color with an off-white head. A very buttery aroma with just about as much metal. Water, some bread sweetness, and a bit of sugar. A strange mustard powder note, too. Tastes just horrible. Metal, butter, mustard, and cough syrup. Sugar and caramel sweetness with a bit of fruit. Terrible stuff.

Sample tray at the brewput. I guess if you get over the shitty service, this beer could become enjoyable.
Cuivrée, fin crémeux/beige.
Arôme malté, fruits noirs, léger garde un bouquet de levure et de brèves notes de houblons.
En bouche, fruitée noir, malt cara, le tout sur une fine note sucrée oscillant entre malté et amertume fruité.

Sweet and fruity aroma of hay, dust and spices.

On draught at Les Brasseurs in Brussels (as "dark beer" on the English-language menu). The beer pours clear brown with a medium thin light beige head that dissipates steadily. Partial rings of lacing on the glass. Aroma of fruit and bready malt. Light body with flavors of sweet malt, cherries and yeast. The finish is short and malty. Pretty average overall.
