A gentle haze punctuate this straight golden ale which develops a towering frothy, dense white foam. Resinous and fairly green, herbal nose delves into the spicy, bready yeastiness to raise up a chivey, accentuated spicy profile. Not as fresh as I should have drank it, but I can see how the mostly faded dry-hopping must have been strongly flowery and resinous earlier on. At this mature stage (probably closing on 1-yr old), the yeast is fairly present though fortunately not stealing the show from the hops and the malt remains just gently cerealic and on the pale, bready side of the spectrum. This makes for a straightforward oiffering that does not necessarily strive for balance, but rather focuses on hops and I can see how enjoyable that must be for varietys sake in Belgium. Fairly dry, yet convincingly warm and bold for a 6% offering, offering a relatively dense texture presumably thanks to the non-filtration and smallish, tighter than average bubbles. Hop-forward indeed despite having several months under its belt (BB Apr. 2014). Pretty good, though at this stage, its stronger on bitterness than aromas.

Aromas not bad, but a touch skunky, aromatic hops and a little caramel malt. Flavor has only the bittering quality of the hops, not the flavor.

chinchill (4824) - South Carolina, USA - MAR 16, 2017
660 ml bottle served a bit past the BB date stamp. Poured a pale amber color with a slight haze. A gentle pour raised a large, dense, bone-colored head that settled very slowly, leaving a thick layer of foam on top of the beer for a long time. Lots of sticky lacing. Aroma - Hops, spicy yeast and bready malts in good balance. High complexity. Hints of mixed fruits including lemons, limes, grapefruit, and green apples) and traces of herbs and cut grass. Flavor - Low funk from the Belgian yeast; ample hops; surprisingly clear input from bready malts. Hints of mixed fruits, pepper, and faint herbs. Feel - Medium body and carbonation. Overall - A flavorful yet mild Belgian IPA. Recommended.

13. 3. 2017, Ljubljana. Bottled. Full aroma, pleasant and delightful. Bitter start but just as fast decay which develops in nice smoothing out finish. Lightbodied with good aftertaste. Medium carbonated, lasting off white lace. Goooood! ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Draft 0.15l at Foeders Amsterdam, The Netherlands. 01.02.2017. Pour it hazy golden color with big white head. Aroma grassy, floral and yeasty. Taste pretty much floral, continues with bitter orange zest, finish quite light bitterness, light to medium body, slick feel, average carbonation, same yeasty feel, OK.

Blonde orange mousse abondante. Nez floral, houblonn, pin et pamplemousse. Belle entre en bouche avec des notes trs subtiles rappelant le nez et une (bonne) moyenne amertume. Cette IPA trs quilibre est une autre russite de la brasserie NL-B la plus connue.
