Bottle shared at Salud. Hazy brown color. Aroma is vinous, tannic with subtle spice. Taste is softly sour with dark fruit vanilla and more tannins. Delicious.

75cl bb12/2017 from brewer @BrugsBF2016, paired with gin & blackthorn cured char, 1. Adventstasting 2017. - Juniper berry, yellow and pip fruits and a subtle woodsiness work very well in this sour gin rendition of a blonde Belgian ale. Aroma is heavily spiced juniper and black pepper, fragrantly sweet jeneverkot, the wooden jenever-soaked benches and bartop with lemon, gooseberry and cinnamon jenever. There is a muddled, even muddy fruity mid to this beer, but I'd like to think age has made it work. Does not wear its abv on its sleeve. Ideal pairing and original brew - underestimated here.

Bottle. Pours hazy orange with a white head. Aroma of Belgian spicey yeast, almonds, quite lactic, scent of gooseberries and wood, quite yeasty. Taste is rather sour with loads of yeast, almonds, spicey yeast, quite boozyvwith loads of gooseberries/gin.

New year tasting at Thomas. Cloudy orange with a lasting white head. Herbal and spicy aroma with juniper notes, along with strong yeast. Sweet and slightly tart yeasty and spicy flavour.

Bouteille 75cl, BB 12/2017.

erickok (6037) - Leuven, BELGIUM - NOV 2, 2016
Light amber, very bubbly short lived head. Spiced, berries, Belgian yeast, amber malts. Nice original taste, traditional ale like but with a modern quality. Somewhat sweet but far from cloying due to the sour ale acidity and spiced middle. Only the ending is more nasal, less flavourful perhaps, and an alcohol heat. But that’s being nitpicky. Great ale, original stuff. (75cl bottle from Être Gourmet)
