COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A Superb dry stout with vanilla and smoke notes. Brewed with a portion of Weyermann Oak Smoked Wheat Malt, and whole Madagascar and Réunion vanilla beans that have been added twice during the brewing and maturation process, for extra complexity.
This ensures ’Charbon’ is a very pleasantly drinkable dry stout, with an interesting aroma and flavour to treat the real beer enthusiasts.

Bottle from Dranken Geers, Oostakker.
Pours cloudy dark brown/black with a lasting, small, foamy, beige head. Complex aroma of roasted malt, smoke, smoked meat, cigar ash, dark fruits, some vanilla. It tastes light creamy sweet with hints of vanilla and light to medium roasted bitter; very light sour touches in the back (berries). The finish is smoky, toasty with umami notes. Medium/full body, creamy texture, soft carbonation. Complex yet very drinkable.

Bottle. Deep brown colour. A huge beige head. Thick laces. Aroma: roasted malts, chocolate, smoke, cheese. Medium minus body. Medium dry taste. Dark malts, roasted barley, dark chocolate, coffee, less smoky than the aroma. Light bitter hops. Complex enough. Nice one.

On tap at Dynamo. Black with a lovely nitro foam appearance. Scent is medium notes on bubblegum smoked vanilla hickory. Taste is very soft, surprisingly generously malted and sweet. Like a dream. What is this fantasy. Excellent beer.

Fles. Mooi donkere stout met bruin schuim; aroma is niet sterk. Prima volle stout van smaak; de vanilla zit alleen heel zacht in de nasmaak.

Aroma is roasted and smoky malts with subtle vanilla. Full body with average carbonation.Taste is bitter with roasted malts, cocoa beans and no signs of vanilla. Bitter roasty aftertaste.

Smak: tutaj ponownie wędzonka z odrobimą popiołowych nut z ogniska, kawa, gorzka i mocna, ciemne owoce i delikatne nuty wanilii. Goryczka kawowa, podkreślająca charakter tego stoutu, na finiszu, nieco zalega. Wysycenie niskie, pasuje. Piwo ma fakturę gładką, miękką, pełnia powyżej średniej.

Pours a dark brown almost black colour with a small frothy and creamy tan head. Aroma is dark roasted malts, chocolate, and wood smoke. A sweet chocolatey taste with vanilla, liquorice and smoke flavours. Smooth in the mouth with an oily texture and a dry finish but very nice.

Bottle shared with friends at Pivoteka, Zagreb in autumn of 2017. Thanks! Hazy dark brown, small off-white head. Lightly smoked, dark malts, roasty and dried fruits. Light dry. Light to medium body, moderate carbonation, lasting dry finish. Good one!

Poured from a bottle. Almost pure black with a little, evanescent light brown head. Smell of smoke, vanilla and a bit of alcool. Taste dominated by a smoked sweet flawor which remembers me the taste of roast chestnut. A bit of vanilla and a bitter aftertaste of smoked wood and tobacco. Very good and drinkable.

colui72 (1193) - HONG KONG - DEC 7, 2017
Pours dark black, medium beige head and some sediments. Nice lacing. Aroma of roasted malts, light vanilla and chocolate. Tastes quite bitter, burnt-like, light vanilla (I bet they have been stingy with the Madagascar vanilla), dark chocolate and some coffee notes. Light bodied, soft carbonation, very easy to drink. Bitter finish. Not bad, but nothing memorable.
