Super aroma - lovely smoky roast, definitely saying Islay whisky. Super soft palate, gentle carbonation. Body has a nice roast but the woody and peaty whisky lakes over quickly. it is great, but it is clearly more the whisky tan the beer. I reall should have kaggen again so I can down-rate it. Anyway lovely mellow dark belgian, but thewhisky dominates a little too much.
75cl bottle @ ZZT V. Great dark brown to red color with a red glare coming through. Smell malts, roasted malts, coffee and earth. Taste malts, roasted malts, some bitterness, lightly sweetish, some peat. Like it more than I expected. Ferris (16687) - Burnaby, British Columbia, CANADA - MAR 19, 2016
Bottle - Brilliant sweet peaty notes. Dirty brown with a light beige head. Tons of wood and peat with a nice light pallet. Nice. bhensonb (15832) - Woodland, California, USA - MAY 27, 2013
Bottle from The Davis Beer Shoppe. Pours ruddy amber brown with a slight beige head. Aroma is rather single malt. Peaty/smoky. Med body. Flavor is sweet smooth burnt malt with lots of peat. This is a slow drinker, but compares very favorably with the excessive BrewDog Paradox.
