On tap at the 11th Brugge beer Festival, Brugge, Belgium. A dark brown/black coloured pour with a medium beige head on top. Roasty, malty, caramel, dark fruit aroma. Tastes roasty, malty, caramel, dark fruit, sweet and rich. Lovely Belgian Strong from a great brewery.

Bottle at the DC RateBeer tasting. Murky brownish with beige head. Aromas of dark fruit, malt. Tastes of caramel, malt, dark fruit. Light body with a dry finish.

UPDATED: JAN 12, 2018 16oz can at the January DC Ratebeer tasting. Poured a nearly pitch black color with a medium sized tan head. Aroma was roasted malts. Bitter dark chocolate, some bitterness. Pretty tasty. The bottle says to try this warm with whipped cream.. Don't do it. The whipped cream was the best part of the hot version.

(brun, nez cassis-botrytis-marron, moelleuse, pâte sucre-amer intense, fin levure & café, longueur métal, malt fumé)

Citrus and some Florals. Apricot. Pours murky brown without much head. Good balance and generally good for style. Tamgy finish. Only issue here is what the ticket suggests - warming some up and serving with a dash of whip cream. A decent beer becomes positively foul like a blow job gone bad ( the shot of course). Wow. Bad marketing idea here. Bottle at tasting.

Bottle, 33cL. 9%. Purchase ("La Cervoiserie", @Poitiers, FR). Home. A very dark brown sparkling beer with a big beige foamy head ; good retention ; ok lacing. Roast, caramel, toasty notes, candied fruits (nose), light smoke, alcohol, licorice notes. Medium round sweet lasting warming ; light dry bitter. Good body, creamy texture, soft carbonation, sweet roast smoky strong lasting finish. Overall, delicious :)

Bottle. Almost clear, deep reddish body with a nice beige head. Aroma of caramel malt, dry fruit and hint of peat. Flavor is sweet malty, dry fruit, mild smoke, some peat and warming alcoholic. Full bodied with a long lasting, nice aftertaste. Tasty and very nice one.

Aus der Flasche am 2016-05 getrunken. Ein recht belangloses (Imperial) Stout was als ein Belgian Strong Ale daher kommen sollte. Nunja immerhin ist es gut trinkbar.

Beggard (73) - - OCT 15, 2017
UPDATED: OCT 15, 2017 0,33 Bottle, enyoing at home with a friend. Cacao aroma, and chocolate taste with a note of cafe (not to noticable). Long lasting aftertaste, a bit of bitterness. A nice round full body ale.
