At Brugs Bierfestival, 4 February 2018. Cheers to Anke & Pieter!

Hazy orange with a lasting, foamy, off-white head that leaves lacing. Aroma of pineapple, mango, orange & mandarin, fruity hops, citrus. Tastes medium fruity sweet and light to medium hoppy bitter; woody/hoppy finish & warming (fruit liqueur) alcohol. Full body, creamy texture, fizzy carbonation. Great Abbey Tripel, couldn't go wrong from Dochter v. d. Korenaar.

Moolesen (634) - NETHERLANDS - NOV 11, 2017
Bottle 50cl. Cloudy orange with a white head. Fresh oak aroma. The taste is like a nice Burgundy white wine with a subtle hoppy bitter finish. Great beer.

Ysok02 (1957) - Mons, BELGIUM - OCT 29, 2017
Robe dorée, un peu trouble, fine mousse, peu persistante. Nez puissant, sur des notes de fruits jaunes confits, de malt, d'épices douces, sur un fine note boisée. Bouche à l'attaque acidulée et maltée, fine bulle, note boisée, de la longueur, de la puissance, et une finale riche et équilibrée. Une bière puissante entre la triple et le Barley wine.

Bouteille 0,5 l. Belle couleur orange, belle mousse ivoire abondante. Nez subtil sur la levure, l'acidulé, les fruits (raisin, orange, fruits rouges), le floral aussi, du grain et le bois. Bouche douce et fraîche en entrée puis le malt, le fruit (orange, raisin), le côté "boisé", un peu de caramel et de l'épice, une superbe amertume en finale. Complex en zeer goed.

Garrold (5941) - Sheffield, South Yorkshire, ENGLAND - AUG 15, 2017
Bottle. Etre Gourmet. Opens with barely a sound. Pours a fairly dirty, burnished gold. Film of white head, that sticks admirably to the glass. Nose has barley sugar sweets. Floral, minty hop. Lots of fresh cut oak. Taste is syrupy sweet, with some leafy hop bitterness. Soft carbonation, verging on flat and dull. A touch boozy. Finishes syrupy sweet and light bitter. Ok at best.

Backlog, shared by Pilsnertest. Clear orange with white head. Crisp hay, oak, wheat, herbs. A bit of menthol character to it. Quite easy and elegant.

Alengrin (6013) - BELGIUM - JUL 4, 2017
At Beerlovers Bar in Antwerp. The oak aged edition of this three-grains tripel, the basic beer being among the classics of Dochter van de Korenaar’s range. Textbook cobweb-lacing, off-white, medium thick head over a hazy peach blonde beer. Aroma reveals oxidation right away, with a strange mix of spiced chicken, rust and mozzarella, goat cheese even, shortbread, old apples, light vanilla-ish oak, pineapple, dough. Fruity onset, apple and unripe peach, vague banana hint, medium carbo, supple mouthfeel, cereally middle, bit doughy, bready and soapy due to the wheat with a spicy, soggy rye bread presence that matches well with the woody accent in the finish, providing nicely drying tannins; spicy hops and warming gin-like alcohol make for an elegant ending. Fascinating, but strangely oxidized and not entirely my personal cup of tea, I must admit.

Piwo prezentuje się pięknie - drobna, obfita i trwała piana, złote, opalizujące. Aromat za to mizerny, lekko słodowy, biszkoptowo ziołowy z nutką brzoskwini i świeżo ściętego drzewa. W smaku ciekawie, półwytrawne - jest wanilia, odrobina świeżego kokosa, triplowe fenole i estry. Goryczka średnia do niskiej, lekkie ściąganie, cierpkość beczki i niewielka kwaskowatość owocowa na finiszu. Wysycenie średnie, niewyczuwalny alkohol. Po kilku łykach pojawia się fany posmak dojrzałych winogron i rodzynek (efekt współoddziaływania wanilii z beczki z estrami? - plusik do oceny).
Dość zaskakujący Tripel, ewidentnie dębina miała duży wpływ na smak, aczkolwiek zapach mało intensywny - może warto rozważyć dodanie na aromat nowofalowego chmielu w typie Nelson Sauvin? Do ikony stylu w moim przekonaniu, czyli Struise - T.H.R.E.E Barrel Aged, sporo brakuje.

Trolleo (1911) - Pula / Zagreb, CROATIA - APR 10, 2017
Hazy to cloudy golden body with minimal sized white head. Hints of alcohol, some mezcal/agave, fruit and wood. Some oak in taste, little bit sour and candy sugar. Medium to full body, soft to flat carbonation. Really enjoyable.
