COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This already quite unique barley-wine was aged for 250 days in Italian Montalcino red wine barrels of the winery Castelnuovo Tancredi.
In this process the beer got the best of both worlds, making it a true Barley Wine.
You can enjoy this beer ’as is’ or combine it perfectly with chocolate or cheese.

Salute!
the ’Dochter van de Korenaar’

Flaska i de Dochter mixpack från Systembolaget. Mörkt brunröd med beige skum. Söt och lite syrlig doft med aprikos, karamell och lite rödvin. Ganska torr men ändå söt smak.

UPDATED: NOV 26, 2017 Sampled from 0.5 l bottle from 'Saveur Bière', 2016 vintage, best before July 2019. Slightly hazy, dark reddish amber with an off-white head. Sweetish-malty, slightly fruity aroma of caramel, honey and red wine. Quite sweet, malty, slightly fruity taste of caramel, red wine and oak, followed by a medium long, moderately bitter, slightly tart, woody-dry finish. Medium to full body, slightly oily and moderately effervescent mouthfeel, soft carbonation. Very nice!

A bit tarty aroma, balanced with alcohol spiciness, jam, dried fruits, cherries and marmalade. Taste is nice, slightly alcoholic, full of stone fruit, dried fruits, oak and a touch of red wine. Very nice bitterness from the stone fruit. Overall, quite complex, unusual and very drinkable barley wine.

UPDATED: NOV 18, 2017 Kastanjebruin bier met off-white schuimkraag die redelijk snel inzakt. Aardbei, confituur, hint framboos, licht vineus, heel subtiel zuurtje. Vol can smaak, lange, licht plakkerige, afdronk. Mooi, heel mooi, bier (méér dan bier, eigenlijk degustief).

50 cl bottle @ home, 2016 edition (just over a year after release). Clear brown color. Steady light beige head. Aroma's: very vinous, sweet, red fruit, light sour, woody. Retronasal it's vinous, woody, alcohol, somewhat funky. Flavor is moderate sweet with a sour touch, some rast and light bitterness. Warming alcohol, but not too sharp. Above medium bodied. Long finish with some wood and light bitterness. Quite complex.

To chyba najlepsze piwo jakie piłem w kategorii "ile wniosła beczka po winie". Cudowne nuty czerwonego wina, poza tym rodzynki, karmel i o dziwo pianki marshmallow. Wanilii też tu nie brakuje. W kontrze drewno i tytoń. Bardzo ułożone wręcz kremowe.
