COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Boskeun is the nickname of Jo, one of the two brothers who preferred to brew blond beer at home. It is a special Easter beer, one of the first real Belgian Easter beers. (Slaghmuylder's paasbier being first). It has been brewed with pale malt, Golding hops, cane sugar and refermented with native honey. As it is a seasonal beer we suggest not to keep it eternally. The name Boskeun means rabbit of the wood (virgin wood, maybe?) and the label shows it, sampling the last brew.

Bottle at home. Aroma is spicy yeast, bready pale malt, spices, esters, herbal and sugary notes, some alcohol and a soft touch of fruits. Flavour is sweet and moderate bitter with some noticeable booze. Body is medium with hefty carbonation. A bit too boozy but I like the estery yeasty aroma.

Pullo @ K & S Beer & Tobacco, Brugge. Kaatuu tulppaaniin kullankeltaisena ja kirkkaana, valtavalla lasin tyttvll vaahdolla, joka j isoksi pumpulipilveksi oluen plle. Tuoksussa on runsaasti belgihiivan pippurisen mausteisia elementtej, hiven yrttisell vivahteella. Kuivattua hedelm ja anistakin on joukossa. Maku on edelleen pippurisen belgihiivainen, nyt anis on selvsti vahvempaa. Lakritsikin tulee mieleen, mutta se voi olla aniksen vivahteitakin. Alla on marmeladimaista makeaa hedelmisyytt tydenten pakettia. Suutuntuma on hyvin tytelinen, alkoholin polte tuntuu mys selvsti. Mausteinen ja hyvin aniksinen vahva belgi, lmmittv ja riittvn monimuotoinen tapaus, ett voisi palata uudestaan.

33 cl bottle, served in tulip glass. Poured cloudy golden with an huge foamy 4 finger off white head. Loads and loads of yeast sediments floating in glass...beautiful! Aromas of honey, lime, orange peel, pepper, bready, floral, grapefruit, strawberry. Taste: Oh wow...honey, blood orange, spices, pear, vinous almost champagne like, caramel, vanilla, herbs, grapefruit, bread with strawberry jam, fruity sugar candy. Delicious creamy and malty mouthfeel. Medium carbonation. A medium body with a long fruity, spicy and boozy finish. The high ABV is well hidden and only reveals itself in the finish. Its been quite a while since Ive tasted a really good Belgian beer, and the Boskeun really hits the ball right out of the park for me! Hats off to De Dolle Brouwers! Bravo!
