Boskeun is the nickname of Jo, one of the two brothers who preferred to brew blond beer at home. It is a special Easter beer, one of the first real Belgian Easter beers. (Slaghmuylder's paasbier being first). It has been brewed with pale malt, Golding hops, cane sugar and refermented with native honey. As it is a seasonal beer we suggest not to keep it eternally. The name Boskeun means rabbit of the wood (virgin wood, maybe?) and the label shows it, sampling the last brew.

Mediamente carbonata.

0.33 bottle. 2010 vintage
A dark, very hazy, dirty brown color with a huge white head. Aroma of dark malts, tons of dark fruits, and caramel. Taste is likewise absolutely dominated by dark fruits but features caramel, ash, and wood too boot. A full body, a creamy texture, and an almost flat carbonation. Finish is very long, once again dark fruits - it also appears old if that makes any sense. Overall the beer is good, worth a try.

PapaVillum (928) - Valby, DENMARK - JUL 20, 2016
Boskeun efterlader dig glad i låget. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle. Trembling Madness, York. Hazy, lumpy gold. Thick, bubbly, shiny topped, lasting, white head. Nose has overripe banana. Sweet, chewy, stone fruit. Dried date, fig and such. Brown sugar. Never a hint of 10%, though. Taste is floral, honeyed sweet. Some phenolic booziness. Smooth, and rich mouthfeel. Honey sweet finish, with a much appreciated, bitter close. Could verge on too sweet, but theres a grassy bitterness that balances things nicely.

On tap at PIB 2016, pours a hazy golden yellow with a small white head. Aroma brings out Belgian yeast and light cardboard. Flavour brings out loads of Belgian yeast upfront, some light caramel and booze. Tastes much better than it smells. Yeasty, fairly sweet and moderately complex. Very nice.

Bottle. Colour...pale gold with a thin white head. Nose...a bit of cardboard to start but then fruity bits show as it warms. Palate...dry, full and frothy with massive fruity goodness laden with tropical fruits, dried apple, cane berry fruit leather and compote. The finish is long, dry and lightly cloying.

Bottle. Golden colour with a white head. Aroma is mainly sweet with banana, candy sugar, plums, spicy, yeast. Flavour has lots of spices and yeast, quite sweet with honey and sugar. Ends with alcohol burn in the throat. The mix between lots of spices and this much yeast flavour ending in alcohol is too much for me.

Amber and medium-bodied. Very foamy. Fruity and spicy aroma, with notes of banana. Highly spicy phenolic flavour, with a bit of alcohol, and a sweet, pungent taste, with medium bitterness. The finish has a note of something unknown that I do not appreciate. Overall, a good belgian strong ale. Very tasty.
