4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Aroma: Sour, Spicy and Floral with some faint roastiness
Appearance: Dusty brown to black with a large lasting tan to light brown head
Flavor: Open with flavor of roasted grains and coffee (these were not apparent in the nose) the sour and spicy elements show up with great restraint
Palate: Sightly spritzy, Roasty toasty flavors finishing dry (dangerously drinkable)
Overall: Expect the unexpected, a Belgian Stout very unique and uncommon. I really like to surprise in the sense that for an a such a big beer it is surprisingly light. The aroma is not what you expect from a stout
Pours dark with rich, foamy head. Aroma is chocolate heavy, with a hint of vanilla and coffee. Taste starts with chocolate but turns bitter quickly. Bitterness maintains through finish. Meh. Cristobal37 (1236) - Budapest, HUNGARY - NOV 12, 2017
Dark black with dark tan head. Strong roasted malt aroma, chocolate and spices. Big carbonation, hazelnuts, chocolate, burnt toast. Palate is the same and tastes linger long. Great stout. Quite different from the other De Dolle beers, but a great example of the style. Huge aroma and taste. SylvainCFC (350) - Brussels, BELGIUM - NOV 8, 2017

Bouche douce, légèrement épicée, chaleureuse, note de chocolat, touche laiteuse, café, touche anisée. Finale douce, torréfiée, doucement alcooleuse. Corpulence moyenne à épaisse, carbonatation vive. Ronde. Stout complexe, doucement épicé, assez fort, chocolaté. AnG_BrgNor (810) - Bergen, NORWAY - NOV 6, 2017

Draft at Oxbow Blending. Pours black with a khaki head. Leaves trace lacing in the glass. Nice roast and molasses notes on the nose and tongue. Hides it's booze well. Finished clean. Nice. nathanvc (712) - Brugge, BELGIUM - OCT 9, 2017
Bottle at De Heeren van Liedekercke, shared with Anke and Pieter. Labeled 9%.GenDV138 (7708) - Falls Church, Virginia, USA - SEP 6, 2017
Pours cloudy black with a lasting, frothy, beige head. The aroma contains licorice, roasted malt, coffee, caramel, hops & spices. It tastes medium to heavy sweet and medium spicy bitter, ending dry & hoppy. Full body, slick/oily texture, fizzy to lively carbonation. Perhaps too "lively on the tongue", and though it's overall very good, the finish is too hoppy to my taste.
4 oz pour on draft at ChurchKey shared by DCLawyer, thanks Jason! Black with light tan head. Aromas of toffee, caramel, cocoa, malt, chocolate. Tastes of cocoa, milk chocolate, malt. Medium-light body with a dry finish. rodenbachvintage (178) - Roeselare, BELGIUM - AUG 14, 2017
Een zwartgeblakerd mouterige stout. Bittere, zwarte chocoladesmaak, toetsen van tabak en koffie.
De gebrande mout overheerst iets teveel voor mij. goede dronk afdronk, zwaar degustatiebier.
