COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Oerbier means original, from the spring. This beer has been brewed in small scale (5 gallons). Oerbier is brewed from no less than 6 malts. Poperinge Golding hops in flowers and a special yeast which makes it a little tart, especially with aging. At the brewery we have excellent cellars which have a constant temperature of 8C and allow Oerbier to age at its best. After a couple of years Oerbier tastes like it should have been blended with wine Oerbier has been refermented in the bottle and contains a layer of yeast, having vitamins B. NAT en STRAF on the glasses means WET and STRONG, a warning for the 7.5 vol. alcohol content. The little person on the glasses is the Oerbier man, a simple creature who holds a brewers fork in his right hand, symbolizing the work and science, but looking to the other side, the result of all this, the glass of (Oer)beer. The artwork on the poster is a wallpainting found in Spain, (Altamira) and is considered by art lovers as being the best prehistoric art work (30,000 years BC). On the other hand we have Oerbier started in 1980, going on with the tradition. For more information on Oerbier's recent recipe history, see the following article: http://www.bunitedint.com/Products/de_dolle/oerbier-re_evolution.html

Big fruity, strawberry aroma. Heavy and sweet but very highly carbonated, giving it an interesting twist. Flavor is serious strawberry with a bit of old paperback. Finishes very clean almost cleansing with a mild cherry wood flavor.

Dark brown colour, with a hugeoff white head that lasts all the time. Great lace. Aroma of dark fruits, plums, raisins. chocolate, cinnamon, nutmeg, rum. Medium to full body, creamy, dense palate. Great carbonation. Taste of chocolate, dried fruits, plums, raisins, vanilla, apples, liquor (rum). And heres another great one from the brothers. I have to find yet one that is not exceptional.

Dark brown. Fruity, lightly spicy, and very yeasty. Notes of kandis or caramel. Strong, sweet and pungent taste that ends with a dry, pungent and boozy finish. Medium body, and foaming carbonation. Overall, a very good strong ale. A bit too pungent and boozy, though. Not as drinkable as Arabier.

0.33 l bottle from drankgigant.nl, best before February 2017, cellared for almost two years. Foam streams slowly out of the bottle... Clear, very dark reddish brown with a massive, foamy, very dense, stable, off-white head. Sweetish, moderately fruity, slightly vinous and a bit yeasty-spicy aroma of caramel, raisins, figs, red grapes and oak. Sweetish, a bit sourish, malty, moderately fruity and quite yeasty-spicy taste of caramel, red grapes, oak, marzipan, candied cherries and a touch of chocolate, followed by a medium long, slightly bitter, dry, a little tart and a bit warming-alcoholic finish. Medium body, heavily effervescent mouthfeel, lively carbonation. Very tasty and really complex, almost refreshing with that sourish, typical De Dolle yeast touch. The excessive carbonation is quite annoying again though, this almost needs to be decanted as most of their beers.

Murky prune brown reddish colour. Off-white head with nice head retention. A tad alcohol, great belgian yeasty taste. Interesting aftertaste, almost like marmite & veggie mite flavours. Smell of dark fruits. A real sipper.

Birra di marrone scuro con riflessi di rame. Schiuma fine e persistente. Allolfatto aromi erbacei e fruttati. Al palato il corpo rotondo, sentori di frutta come prugna e susine, bilanciate da note di liquirizia. Unottima birra.
