COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Oerbier means original, from the spring. This beer has been brewed in small scale (5 gallons). Oerbier is brewed from no less than 6 malts. Poperinge Golding hops in flowers and a special yeast which makes it a little tart, especially with aging. At the brewery we have excellent cellars which have a constant temperature of 8°C and allow Oerbier to age at its best. After a couple of years Oerbier tastes like it should have been blended with wine … Oerbier has been refermented in the bottle and contains a layer of yeast, having vitamins B. NAT en STRAF on the glasses means WET and STRONG, a warning for the 7.5 vol. alcohol content. The little person on the glasses is the Oerbier man, a simple creature who holds a brewers fork in his right hand, symbolizing the work and science, but looking to the other side, the result of all this, the glass of (Oer)beer. The artwork on the poster is a wallpainting found in Spain, (Altamira) and is considered by art lovers as being the best prehistoric art work (30,000 years BC). On the other hand we have Oerbier started in 1980, going on with the tradition. For more information on Oerbier's recent recipe history, see the following article: http://www.bunitedint.com/Products/de_dolle/oerbier-re_evolution.html

Brown colour, very good creamy head. Fruity aroma (peach and apricots). The flavour is pleasantly sweet with caramel, raisins, apricots, pineapple and apple traces. The finish is quite spicy and alcoholic. Great complexity but not perfectly balanced.

At Cambrinus, Bruges. Pours cloudy brown with a lasting, foamy, off-white head. The aroma contains sugar, caramel, hops, spices, raisin, dried fruit and yeast. It tastes medium sugary sweet at first, then light hoppy bitter, finishing with a winey, acidic note. Oily texture, medium body, fizzy carbonation, light alcoholic. Very complex, balancing between sweet and sour, a real tasting beer.

elbernays (1475) - Dublin, IRELAND - JUN 17, 2017
Bottle from Saveur biere. Pours brown with ruby red hints. Lots of dark fruit, raisin, tannic notes. Flavour is raisin sweet with a sour dry finish. Quite unusual. Lots of carbonation. Not the easiest drinking beer

Decent, but don’t understand the hype. Some slightly, slightly acidic notes, a little dried fruit and some lingering bitterness.

BOTTLE 33 CL. Almost clear, rally dark ruby, gigantic beige head. Rich malty aroma, dark sugars, dried fruit, a little bit of cheesy acidity. The taste is just as rich, malty and fruity, with enough spicy bittering hops to balance, and high massging carbonation for an easy drinking mouthfeel. Background warming alcohol. Very good.

Dark brown colour, with a hugeoff white head that lasts all the time. Great lace. Aroma of dark fruits, plums, raisins. chocolate, cinnamon, nutmeg, rum. Medium to full body, creamy, dense palate. Great carbonation. Taste of chocolate, dried fruits, plums, raisins, vanilla, apples, liquor (rum). And here’s another great one from the brothers. I have to find yet one that is not exceptional.

Echon (535) - Ĺrhus, DENMARK - APR 11, 2017
Dark brown. Fruity, lightly spicy, and very yeasty. Notes of kandis or caramel. Strong, sweet and pungent taste that ends with a dry, pungent and boozy finish. Medium body, and foaming carbonation. Overall, a very good strong ale. A bit too pungent and boozy, though. Not as drinkable as Arabier.

4.8
seuinoz (255) - Glen Ellyn, Illinois, USA - MAR 29, 2017
Aroma of Chocolate and spices.Appearance is black as night. Taste Chocolate and licorice. Palate . medium body, moderate feel, average carbonation. Overall would have gotten a perfect rating if i didn’t get small amounts of alcohol burn. Besides that a great belgian strong ale.
