An interesting beer, as others have pointed out. The immediate acrid nose drops off into a distinct notation of hay. The color is fantatsic for those who love the rich yellow/orange of a nice Gulden or IPA. The Palate was sour, not Cantillon Apricot sour, but sour nevertheless. The sourness was not off putting ... it is likened to Verhaegen's Duchesse De Bourgogne yet ths beer is not a Flemish Red. Once it settles down, a strong indication of apples became apparent in both the nose and flavor. The pressure in these beauties is amazing so don't point the cork at a buddy when opening one. The bottles do ooze from inner pressure but no air seems to get in. A must try if you can find it.

Bottle shared at Kennys 20k tasting - London. Cheers to Paul for this oldie! Pours unclear red-orange with a creamy, off-white head. The nose is heavy with damp wood, light funk, hints of vinegar and peach. Light to medium sweet flavour, with some over-ripe fruits, melon and peach, touches of rotten orange, bread, moderate acidity. Medium bodied with average carbonation. Finishes sweetly, with nice tartness, more melon, grapes, peach, some cleansing acidity. Very nice beer overall. It has aged quite well.

Bottle share at Kennys 20K as De Dolle Speciaal Brouwsel 20, 8%. Many thanks to Paul. Dark matte brown, murky, dense foamy off-white head, light lacing. Aroma is earthy, spinach, souring apple, dried peel and leaves, a touch of varnish. Body is medium to light, tingly carbonation, smooth. Taste is tangy and sour with rhubarb, raisin, apple and a touch of vinegar. A very interesting sour brown. Not necessarily my favourite style but this is a nice one.

Pours unclear orange amber with a creamy white head. Aroma is lighter bringing woody and light sweet boozy notes, wild yeast dominating g there though. The flavor is much better than the nose for me, bringing sweet and fruity yeast with pleasant unique subtle tart notes that settle smooth in the palate.
