Thanks to Todd for sharing this bottle at the Carolina Crew tasting last month! Cloudy yellow pour. Woody, funky, yeasty, fruity, spicy flavor and aroma. Very complex and the 13% abv was well hidden.
Truly amazing for a 12 year old beer. Cloudy amber appearance (after yeast left to rest in the bottle). Small head; very little lacing. Convoluted aroma of sherry, oak, ripe fruit and spices. Complex flavors share the same attributes as the aroma with more emphasis on a comparison to a dessert wine. Long lasting finish with a little spice in the aftertaste and plenty of alcohol. Think of this as an aging diva, still beautiful but far from her prime. Sloth outdid his self again in a recent trade. Thanks Bert. teorn88 (7671) - Rimini, ITALY - NOV 8, 2016
33cl bottle shared at DHVL. It pours a mostly clear amber color with a small off white head. Aroma is sweet and rich with notes of caramel, toffee, lightly oxidised notes, marmalade, raisins and liqueur. Taste is mostly sweet upfront and lightly oxidised with a softly tart finish with plenty of raisins, red berries, toffee, light vanilla and oaky astringency. Light sweet oxidation. Medium bodied with ok carbonation. Overall, complex and still very tastycough drop, sir__v (2618) - FRANCE - OCT 23, 2016
Bottle @ Kulminator, Antwerpen - BE. Color: clear golden blond beer with high carbonation and high white foam. Smell: caramel and alcohol domination. Dry alcohol boozy nose. I think about Calvados barrel aged. Taste: full body with sweet caramel malt balanced with dry alcohol notes. Very strong alcohol taste. Quiet good but not so balanced for De Dolle beers. Aftertaste: dry, alcohol, fruity and body. hackobock (4007) - Stockholm, SWEDEN - JUL 3, 2016

Cloudy dark golden with a small white head.Aroma is sweet fruity, vinous with grapes, peach, apples, plum, sugar, toffee, wood, red wine, alcoho and some earthy damp cellar notes. Taste is sweet, malty with toffee, sugar and peach, light dry grape skin tartness with some oak notes in the finish and warming alcohol. Medium bodied, soft carbonation.
Good, tried it side by side with the regular 2005 and I preferred that one, didn’t have the higher alcohol notes that this one had.
Bottle - Lots of sweet fruity almost stone fruit notes. Cloudy gold with no head. Lots of intense stone fruit, cumquat and some odd spice. Lovely for the age.

Bottle. Pours a hazy gold with medium off white head that lasts leaving spotty lacing. The aroma is dark fruit, spices, yeast. Medium mouth, candy sugar, spice, vanilla, boozy finish, held up very nice. MarcoDL (4791) - NETHERLANDS - JUL 25, 2015
Bottle at Kulminator. Finally. Orange copper colored beer. Strong aroma of cognac, white grape and vinous raisin. Taste is quite different from other beers, with soft raisin, caramel, white grape, boozy wine and a warming finish. It’s like a marriage between a barley wine and white port. Good stuff. minutemat (5395) - Shrewsbury, Shropshire, ENGLAND - MAY 20, 2015
