August 3, 2017. Bottle at the source, batch #2.
Purple with a large pinkish head. Aroma is very fruity with lots of boysenberries, some lemon and floral notes, very light oak and funk. Sour and fruity taste. Medium bodied, average carbonation with a tart, fruity and slightly dry finish with lots of berries that also gives a very light sweetness.
One of the better De Garde I’ve tried.

As I work my way through a really great selection of beers at the Grand Tasting at the RBSG 2017 here at Woodland Empire I am hoping for a good beer for number 5,500. So here goes. This beer pours near purple with a pink head. Nose of tart berry, and lot of berry indeed. Medium plus body. The flavor here is divine, with wood and berry showing together in profusion. Finishes quite tart. Nothing complicated here. Just flat out tasty. Great beer.

Pouring at the RBSG17 Grand Tasting. Pours a deep juicy purple with a thin white head. Berry and fruit on the nose, big floral tones float over it all. Medium bodied, soft acid, funk and fruit. Big acid, soft fruit, floral notes as well. Long acid and funk.

Garrold (5605) - Sheffield, South Yorkshire, ENGLAND - JUL 27, 2017
Bottle, shared at Northern Monk. Hazy, deep purple. Dense, foamy, dark pink head. Nose has cherry lips sweets. Parma Violets. Some earthy, red fruit. Some raspberry yoghurt. Cheesy funk behind all that. Taste is tart and yoghurt like sour. Dry as a bone, too. Light to medium body. Clean and crisp. Prickly fizz. Tart, dry, and sour finish. Decent. A glass was probably enough, though.

Bottle shared by Jack, thanks! Pours a near clear purple with a near white head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma has a slight veggie note with some tart boysenberries with a bit of funk supporting. Flavor has a great tart boysenberry with a bit of funk and a hint of veggie underlying.
