COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A play off of our Imperial Berliner inspired iterations. We brewed this in collaboration with our friend Brad Basile. Subbing rice in for our typical wheat component provides a more crisp and spicy backbone. This was aged for a year in a mix of Dry Vermouth and neutral oak barrels, then conditioned on fresh Ginger to complement the spicy barrel and fermentation character.

Danyel (1606) - Colorado, USA - DEC 26, 2015
Bottle Pours yellow with white head. Aroma is strong of ginger, lemon, funk, floral. Taste like a moscow mule, light to medium bodied, very flavorful. Overall, nice but tastes more like a cocktail than a beer.

Bottle split at RB Best Hotel Lobby Share, post festival, 31/01/16. Hazed golden orange topped with a moderate off white head. Nose is root ginger, lemon rinds, citric zest, damp straw, light spice. Taste comprises lime zest, ginger, smoked straw, wheaten bread, grains, balsa wood, citric sherbets. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close with a light pucker. Decent refreshing ’Linner, one of the best beers I’ve had with the word ’ginger’ in its title !

Bottle. Thanks! A: Cloudy gold, thin white head, and good lacing. N: Ginger, lemon, vinegar, sweet-tart. Oak. More sweet-tart and grapefruit rind. Don’t really get much of the vermouth. T: Quite tart and sweet. M: Light body, no alcohol, prickly carbonation. O: Another one-dimensional bottle from De Garde. Probably gets a few more points because I like ginger in my beer, but other than that, nothing of note.

Bottle. Pours a clear yellow color with a small white head. A big fruity ginger nose with oak. Big spicy ginger, oak, sour lemons, funky notes. The earthy fruity vermouth is lovely. Great beer.

Poured from a 750 ml bottle. Aroma is unique with a moderately strong ginger note along with quite a bit of vermouth character. Light oak notes with medium light acidity. Light citrus with moderate floral notes. Pours a very clear, golden color with a medium sized, thin, white head that recedes quickly tot he edges and disappears. No lacing or legs. Flavor is moderately to fairly acidic with quite a bit of lemon and some lighter lime notes. Light oak note. Medium light ginger with a moderate vermouth note that adds some floral and herbal characteristics. Mouthfeel is medium light bodied with medium carbonation. Low astringency and low alcohol warmth. Overall, an alright berliner where the vermouth and the ginger work really well. My problem with the beer is that the acidity is too sharp and it reminds me of the older berliners from de Garde. I still really like the way the ginger plays off the vermouth though.

750mL bottle at a tasting. Thanks to brainlair! Hazy straw color with big persistent foam. Crazy ginger, pickled beet nose. Taste is pretty salty with mild acetic acid / white vinegar. Fleeting sour peach. Not doing it for me.
