Steini bottle from De Bierwinkel at Sint-Veerleplein in the centre of Ghent - an unexpected tick coming from a shop owned by foreigners where I usually only stop by to buy cigarettes... Shared with Goedele and Craftmember at the Graslei. Thick and moussy, papery lacing, off-white, stable head, hazy peach blonde colour. Aroma of candy floss, banana, orange peel, spoiled cucumber, camomile tea, sourdough, melon, kiwi, baker's yeast - but very little of the typical Chinook features. Fruity onset, sweet banana ester, melon, ripe pear, fizzy carbonation, supple bready malt base, sweetishness of residual sugars lending it a slightly honeyish effect, powdery yeasty finish with floral and zesty hop character, wormwood bittering, but almost no Chinook 'pineyness'; instead, Belgian esters and spicy phenols, as well as an actual yeast flavour, warming gin-like alcohol and lingering malt sweetness, keep dominating. Decent enough as a typical Belgian IPA - in the sense of "tripel with certain international hop-forward features" but no real IPA and certainly not the piney, 'traditionally American' Chinook IPA I was hoping for. berkshirejohn (6690) - Bracknell, Berkshire, ENGLAND - MAY 30, 2016
33cl bottle from Hopduvel, Ghent. A hazy amber pour with a thick white head; yeasty aroma; fruity orange citrus taste; with some resin and a warming spicy bitterness and a lasting finish. Bornyensis (321) - BELGIUM - OCT 3, 2015
Een leuke IPA, was wel een beetje verrast. Een goede aroma en een diep doordringende bittere smaak. PauloAG (251) - BELGIUM - APR 22, 2015
330cc bottle. Pours dark blond with creamy white head. Cloudy with lots of floating yeast. Nice resin and citrus hop aromas. Taste is hoppy resin and citrus with caramel sweet background. Not very bitter, not very hoppy almost not very IPA, but a very pleasant beer. JefVerstraete (3673) - Oosterzele, BELGIUM - DEC 26, 2014

Almost clear darkgolden color, with a good white head.
Aroma: citrus, fruits, some sweet, hops. Medium body.
Taste: sweet, fruits, good bitterness, hops.
0.33L bottle. Hazy yellow with a frothy off-white head. Really nice hop aroma, both piney and citrusy. Hop flavor dominates as well. Mild sweet at beginning going to nice hop flavor, floral and piney, finishing with a medium bitternes. Light body with a thin mouth feel and sharp carbonation. Overall, the beer is all about hops, good aroma, less so on the flavor.
