At an Mitra in buikslotermeer Amsterdam, bottle 750ml, dark red, huge fluffy head, lots of citrus fruits like grape and lemon, some caramel and roasting nuts, nice one.

*Old rating, best before 30/07/10. Fruchtig-malziges Bier. Süßlich mit ausgewogener Herbe, leicht alkoholisch, mild-weich. Fruchtig-süßlich-malziger Nachgeschmack mit einer passenden etwas trockenen Herbe.

L - Poured copper with a full head that dissipated quickly. S - Grains and hops. T - Malty with Carmel and biscut and some citrus and hop character. M - Lighter body and a mild bitterness O - Balances the hop and malt flavors.

One of two luxury ales celebrating the 175th birthday of De Koninck brewery some years ago, the other being the Gusto 1833 Golden Blond. Thick and stable, creamy, light beige, sticky head, dark bronze colour with copper hue and fierce sparkling. Strong, fruity aroma of redcurrant, candied cherries, apple cider, orange zest, grassy hops, liquorice, cognac, ginger, iron; sweetish and spicy, liquorice-like onset with strong, mineral-like carbonation and a very faint saltiness, smooth and resinous mouthfeel, caramelly malt base with a hint of walnut, restrained sweetness but still a little bit sticky in the tail, otherwise a dry finish with soft bitterish, herbal hops, a good deal of warming, but not astringent alcohol and a drying effect of the strong carbonation. The better one of the two, in my view at least.

0,7 cl bottle shared THT 10/2012. Appearance: red brown with a small white head. aroma: malty, red fruit, chocolate and acidic. smaken: Very safe in the middle of everything, medium sweet, medium bitter a bit of sourness and some fruit and malts. However the only suprise was the bit of sourness for the rest very safe and borring. Thin body and texture, high fizzy carbonation.

@Secret Sinterklaas, thanx !

Tastes like a stronger and fuller version of the Bolleke. It’s nice, but I wouldn’t drink it again.

JanEric (1241) - Meppel, NETHERLANDS - JUL 31, 2013
Reddish brown, with diminishing head. Aroma has alcohol, some fruits. Tastes like a strong oud bruin, a strong de koninck, nice, but not that special. At the sweeter side of the palate.

pivnizub (10728) - Bochum, Porúří, GERMANY - NOV 9, 2012
Bottle: Literally reddish-amber coloured, big creamy and rocky off-white head, hazy, but carbonation still visible, dried fruits and sweet caramel in the nose; moderate sweet flavour, medium bodied, quite soft; sweet fruity and slightly nutty finish with a delicate vinous-alcoholic aftertaste. Really good....

anders37 (26824) - Malmö, SWEDEN - SEP 5, 2012
Bottle. Pours a reddish amber color with a small off-whit ehead. Has a fruity malty spicy aroma. Fruity malty spicy honey flavor. Has a sweetish malty spicy honey finish.

faroeviking (11024) - Chupando chellas es como ellas, FAROE ISLANDS - AUG 12, 2012
Big botell.a Gracias Cecil. Unclear red brown colour, small beige head. Sweet caramel well toasted malty aroma. Flavour has a good dark maltiness with caramel, yeast and (dark like) fruit.
