COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This special ale has been developed in honour of the brewing in the late Middle Ages when the farmers could not work in the fields during the winter months and therefore had time to devote themselves to brewing ale. Winter Koninck is a deep amber-coloured top-fremented ale with 6.5% Alc. vol. and a full-bodied flavour.

(De Koninck Winterkoninck) Bottle 330 ml at home, as De Koninck Winter, served into a tall tulip, ABV 6.5% Nice amber colour on the body, with lazy activity in it, and a tall and thick tan head on top. Very good retention, light lacing on the glass. On the aroma light toffee, interesting hoppy notes too. Taste is fruity, some caramel and light toffee, sugar and marmalade, red fruits. Medium thin body, high carbonation. Nice.

Drinking from tab. Caramel in the aroma. The clear brown beer has a large brown head. Taste doesn’t top average. Not bad, not great. Medium carbonated.

A hazelnut brown coloured beer with a weak white head. A light fruity aroma, some sweet spice, a little bit like cough candy! Dry mouthfeel. The taste does follow on from the aroma, with lots of ripe fruit, sweet clove spice, and a caramel, boiled sweet flavour, which is all tempered with a mild sourness. The finish is mildly sour with a lot of fruit and spice. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle from Dranken Verheijen in Poppel. The beer has a deep amber color and a nice large head, with a lot of bubbles. In the aroma clear tones of dark fruits, caramel, hops and malts. The taste is nicely balanced, with balance between a sweet taste, bitterness and a taste of roasted dark malts. The finish is fruity and light bitter.
