Bottle, from Dranken Geers, at the 500 miles tasting in the Sham, 23/03/13. Very dark mahogony brown with a thin beige head. Nose is roast malt, light chocolate, mineral notes, yeast, dates and other dark fruits. Taste comprises roast malt, dark chocolate, ash, burnt tones, light smoke. Medium bodied, a little over spritzy in the carbonation, dry in the finish. Ok for a Belgian stout, Ive encountered much worse in my time!

33cl - Light-bodied but tasteful Belgian take on the Guinness Foreign Stout tradition with the low UK/IRL-ABV of a duller regular Guinness. All elements are in place: roast and dark chocolate bitterness; somewhat lacking: creamy mouthfeel (OK considering low ABV, makes for more to sample); not sincerely missed: stout sweetness; extra present: distinct De la Senne yeast spice and pronounced earthy hops. - Convincing brew, slightly departing from EU-insular traditions.

330 ml bottle - pours dark brown with a light beige head. roasted and lightly smoked aromas, some soy sauce and some liquorice. Light mouthfeel with bitter roastiness. Nice for such low alcohol, wouldve liked it a bit sweeter.

11.2 oz bottle from Winooski Beverage Warehouse for $3.05. English pint shows thick full head with major lacing. Served at cellar temp and nose was still really weak. Light roasted grain at the most. Taste is lighter, low malt presence. Mild earthy hops. Creamy texture and soft carbonation. I guess when looking at the low ABV, this brew does have decent enough flavor.

Bottle at Brux Ale, Kuala Lumpur. Poured a dark mahogany colour with a frothy tan head and some lace. The aroma is malty with a little smoke. The flavour is medium bitter, with liqourice and some peat and smoke on the palate. It tasted even better when it became warm. A super Belgian stout.

Pours black with a generous tan head that reduces to a thin layer for the rest of the glass. Nice lacing. Initial roasty notes but with a medium bitter body thats a bit thin, might I say watery. Average carbonation with a bitter finish. Disappointing.

33cl bottle. Appearence - dark brown, nice head. Aroma - dark fruits and good coffee. Taste - torrefied and bit fruity with dry bitter finish. Overall - so good for the strength. Another great beer from Brasserie de la Senne.

0,33l bottle from the local supermarket. Pours very dark brown with a low head. Aroma is like an ashtray, roasted malts with lots of liquorice. Flavor is pretty similar with a hoppy finish. Very dry indeed. Nice.
