Bottle. Murky golden brown color, thick creamy white head with good retention and solid lacing. Aroma of peppery and funky raw bread dough, light stone fruit. Taste is bitter and funky barnyard, dusty cobwebs, attic corners. Delicious.

On 35 cl bottle from beerplanet.be. Golden color, good foam. Aromas of fruits and floral aromas, some citrus; medium/light aroma intensity. Medium body & complexity. High sourness for this kind of beer- but subtle and well balanced. Enjoyable

I picked this up at Dranken Geers, Oostakker, nr Gent, Belgium, consumed at Brasenose at Cropredy Fairport festival 8th August 2013 Pours hazy gold with white head, I dropped the bottle causing quite a fizzy bottle. Lemony with a softness, good bite and tasty beer. You can tell its Belgian, little yeasty but good. A6 A3 T7 P4 Ov14 3.4

A steady pour into my New Belgium globe glass produces a three-finger thick, pale off-white colored head that slowly, slowly subsides, with a mesa like structure and a fluffy texture. The beer is a pale-amber / gold color that shows a clear, yellow-gold hue when held up to the light. The aroma smells lightly tart, fruity, grain laden, floral and citrus hoppy notes, and an earthy fermentation character. Bright Meyer lemon like notes with an herbal, not quite minty edge, candy lemon drops, citrus honey notes, honeydew melon, and some kiwi notes all play a prominent role. There is a soft, supporting malt character that contributes a hay like character, and a pale cracker like note. This has a huge, earthy, musty, slight phenolic, fermentation character in the nose that adds a rustic wild character that this beer certainly needs.

Quite effervescent and even foamy textured, quite light bodied and refreshing, but amply hoppy and the beer finishes with firm, biting bitterness. The beer is so dry that it downplays the citrus hop character, but it still has an ample dry lemon oil like character, as well as an herbal, rosemary like, perhaps a hint of menthol, and a lingering green hoppiness. The bitter bit here is quite big, but it melds with the rest of the beer well enough that it isn’t harsh. The yeast / fermentation character here contributes a woody, earthy spice character, a musty phenolic note, mellow cobwebs, a musty washed out cedar character, . As the beer warms up a bit the citrusy hop character comes through a bit more with a bit more rounded, perhaps even marmalade like, and a touch of tart grapefruit citrus zest character.

This is really my type of beer, light bodied, low in alcohol, hoppy, with a backbone of characterful fermentation character of the Belgian persuasion; I can’t get enough, and if these weren’t so easy for me to brew (I always am) I would be ordering a whole lot of this.

330ml bottle

Bottled October 2012 - Pours hazy golden with a small white head. Aroma of tangy fruits, hints of grass, spices and malts. Taste is carbonated, tangy fruity, stingy and grassy with hints of spices and yeast. Finish is carbonated, stingy and grassy with hints of spices. Quite carbonated and a bit unbalanced, feels like it’s past its prime.

Aroma has soapy citrus, some hay and hints of apricot. Palate is too high on CO2. Flavour has spices, some soapy citrus, floral notes and hints of apricot. Decent.
