Zwarte kleur met koper gekleurde schuimkraag. Veel koolzuur komt vrij bij het inschenken.Geur is wat gematigd, kan het niet echt thuis brengen.Smaak is niet echt mijn ding helaas. PeatyPete (1057) - NETHERLANDS - AUG 14, 2015

Draught at Hemel. Rich dark body, toffee, raisin, licorice, warming finish. Solid stuff, really enjoy the Malheur stuff in small servings. laiti (8469) - Tampere, FINLAND - JUN 24, 2015
Draught @ Le Trappiste, Bruges as "Malheur Novice Black." Aroma has tobacco, ash, toffee and licorice. Flavour has licorice, funky yeasty tones, ripe fruits and toffee typical to Belgian ales. Alcohol is present but does not disturb. Quite delicious, I like the licorice here.Wixie (589) - BELGIUM - MAY 18, 2015

75 cl bottle @ Gastropub Tuulensuu, BBE 07.12.2014
Aroma has licorice, brown sugar and some dark fruits. Flavour is somewhat tart and dry with citron, some orange peel, dark fruits and slightly salty licorice. Also hints of raisins. Palate is a bit too high on CO2. Unusual but good.
