blackisle (2522) - IJburg, NETHERLANDS - SEP 19, 2014
Bottle 33cl. Opaque dark chestnut brown, one finger frothy beige head, recedes after a while to a thick layer, fair lacing; complex aroma of sweet malts, dark fruit (raisin, date), yeasty, lemon/lime, orange peel, light licorice note (zoete drop); taste moderate sweet, slightly bitter, with light fruity sweet and sour impressions in the background; full body, oily to creamy texture, velvet-like mouthfeel, soft carbonation; finish mild bittersweet, bit roasty, fruity undertones. Very interesting and very nice and very tasty beer.

Bottle 33cl, a dark beer with copper head. Nose is on sour cherries. Aroma is on bitter and astringent red fruit notes, dominant of strawberies, dry body, tannic, lot of roasted notes. Long bitter and roasted aftertaste.

Bottle 33cl. Dark brown with a sturdy caramel coloured top. Aroma is a bit sweet, but fades quickly. Taste has bitterness and Co2. A sharp metallic taste is also present which puts me off somewhat. Not bad though.

Black Triple :D Stout/Guiness-like. Dry, belgium. Interesting combinations. Cherries and white chocolate, sweet. Most of the time i don’t like sweet dark beers, but somehow i seem to really enjoy this!
