Unclear brew, almost no head... Nice taste and aroma, lots of things going on in there: chocolat, caramel, dark fruits, hops... starts out sweet and ends enormously bitter, very nice... my only complaint is about it’s body, i find this beer a bit to light, to lively also for it’s dark taste... one of the great dutch beers nonetheless OleR (4801) - Oslo, NORWAY - JUL 14, 2010

’t Arendsnest, Amsterdam. Dense sand-colored head. Body is hazy dark copper. Nutty malt aroma with notes of marzipan and mild spices. Also a fresh whiff from the yeast. Lightly spiced malt flavor. Medium full, medium sweet. A fine fruitiness too, raisins and dates. Noticable alcohol, not disturbing. A gentle spicy bitterness beneath. Texture is thick and oily. Warming, malty finish. A straightforward and well-crafted Belgian Strong.

After the beer was served in the glass there was found a lasting quantity not wall adhesive light brown foam collar which was fine and evenly of tructure. The beer also contained much carbonic acid in the glass.
The beer has a thick dark brown color and a sugarsweet taste. The after tast of the beer is hoppy bitter with a brandy malty touch. This beer smells fruity. Borresteijn (7661) - Zaandam, NETHERLANDS - JAN 21, 2010
