the smell of the beer promises more than what you eventually get. I smell chocolate, strawberries, banana and more in the beautiful foam top. NoiZe (2394) - Zeist, NETHERLANDS - APR 1, 2009
it’s a very warming beer. Takes a minute before the effect of a sip has stopped. Alcohol kicks in later and keeps you warm inside.
De Leckere is turning into one of my favorite Dutch breweries.

Bottled, bought at Mitra. Dark brown color, short head. Aroma of roasted malt, some chocolat and coffee. Taste is good malty, slight sweet, some licorice. Good brew for the winter season, and exceptionally well made for De Leckere! fata2683 (2202) - Tucson, Arizona, USA - DEC 20, 2008
on tap, pours dark cherry/brown with a small white head. Aromas are of oak, alcohol and cinnamon. The taste is strong, some malt character mixed with licorice and cinnamon. The mouth ilight to medium with moderate carbonation and a creamy feel in the finish. Pretty good strong ale. JorisPPattyn (10072) - BELGIUM - DEC 7, 2008
UPDATED: DEC 9, 2008 Huge yellow-brown, dense head over beautiful deep mahogany coloured beer. Sweetish nose, very liqueurish. Spices and cypress blend to a very Ardennes-like brew. Spicy, leafy, root spices flavours. Caramel, burnt & roasted notes, almonds, faint bitterish lining. Good balance. Quite well-bodied, slick, nearly viscous. Not very distinctive finish or aftertaste. Not bad at all. Thank God it is Blauwe, and not Botte Bijl… yespr (48100) - Copenhagen O, DENMARK - NOV 27, 2008
30 cL bottle, courtesy of fonefan. Pours almost clear brown with a small off-white head. Mild roasted malty and slight spiced aroma. Flavour is sweet malty, slight oxidised. Light spice note and somewhat flat into the finish. Papsoe (25055) - Frederiksberg, DENMARK - OCT 11, 2008
(Bottle 30 cl) Courtesy of fonefan. Comes as "De Leckere Winterbier. Pours a slightly hazy amber golden with a small off-white head. Delicious aroma of burned caramel. Quite full-bodied with burned caramel, pumpernickel and roasted malt. Subdued bitterness but heavy on alcohol. More British/Scottish than Belgian really. 041008
