COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Thanks to the Australian Galaxy hops a refreshing, very fruity and complex thirst quencher. Totally addictive! Quote from Derek Walsh :- It’s not brewed to follow a style. I.B.A. (Inter-natural Blond Ale) uses 3 organic malts from Germany and a hint of sugar combined with German Saphir-, American Cascade- and Tasmanian Galaxy hops (no dry-hopping) and American yeast to create a hybrid between Bitter Blond, Abbey Blond and a May Bock. With 30 EBU’s and and high degree of attenuation it’s refreshing, dry and has a hop-fruity complexity.

On tap. 25cl sample. Old note. The aroma has flowers, citrus, bit biscuit. Bit hazy, light orange coloured beer with a medium sized white head. The taste is light-moderate bitter and has grain, flowers and citrus. Relative clean and easy drinking beer.

On tap at Arendsnest. Hazy almost murky gold pour with white head. Aroma is fruity, but also quite oxidized, with some strong buttery notes as well, something seems off. Taste is bitter sweet, nice hoppiness, lots of sweet malty flavors as well, honey, the whole thing is a bit buttery. The advertised high attenuation does not show, as I felt this tasted very underattenuated actually. It presented some interesting traits, but something was wrong here.

Hazy golden. Yeast, fruity hops (grapefruit, tangerine), pilsner malts. Light malty sweetness, tart citrus and medium bitter finish. Medium bodied, lively carbonation. Nice and complex. Good beer, best one from them I’ve had so far.

A 0.30l bottle from the Euro Swap II. Was somehow expecting a black thing before I pours this one. IBA, India black ale you know, but to my surprise this is light cloudy orange looking little thing with a nice medium sized just off-white head that’s leaving some good blondes on the sides of the glass. Smells really wheaty and inviting with lots of fresh citrus and orange zesty flavors. I get a fresh floral tone, some Belgian yeasty hints and a little bit of coriander. Is this a wit or a wheat ale? Smells quite nice anyways. It has a good thick oily mouthfeel wrapped in those small bubbly average carbonation bubbles. Immediately i get some warming alcohol, but it’s also got more wheat and fresh hoppy citrusy tones. A good amount not of that sweetness, but it’s still somewhat balanced. Ends fruity and slightly eastery with a lasting minty - almost toothpaste minty and fruity aftertaste. Having a hard time identifying the identity and genre if this one, but it’s not bad at all. Thanks Tinius! 24.09.2013

This was a pretty decent specialty beer. Hoppy, lots of fruit and grass in the aroma, but the flavor was mostly bready malts.

Bottled, BB July 2013? (released early 2013 though), large sample. Had several from tap before as well. Clear golden color, medium frothy slight off-white head. Aroma of flowery and citrussy hop, slight grainy, slight soapy, marmelade, some apricot. Actually mosf of the fruit is apricot. Some malty sweetness, quite fruity bitter taste. Clean yeast. Gets better every sip, where the apricot marmelade flavors dance around the grainy and biscuity malts. Finish is long lingering apricot marmelade.
