Cuvee Jeune Homme is an oak-aged bitter beer. Originally it had a slight citrus-bitterness due to its 4 hops and the subsequent dry hopping. It is acidified while it ripens for 4 months in oak wine casks. The daring bitter-sour combination is moderated by this ripening process and as a consequence it is a very pleasant drinking beer.
Ingredients: water, barley malt, sugar, hops, yeast. Re-fermented in bottle.

Poors golden- light ocre with decent head. Aroma and taste: light vanilla, distictly woody, lactic acid, some apple sourness. Aroma a bit musty, perhaps. Sourness is soft, some bitterness indeed. Tastes for an apple-sour rather subtle but with definately a more than average complexity. Very well balanced. I think this is excellent.

UPDATED: APR 18, 2018 Nice cuvee; acetic acids not so much lactic acids; esters are decent as the whole beer but not astonishing.

Zlotta (4495) - Hagen, GERMANY - AUG 30, 2017
0.33 l bottle from '', best before January 2021. Clear, golden amber with a thin, foamy, almost stable, white head. Just slightly sweetish, rather sourish, moderately fruity and a bit funky aroma of lemon, rhubarb, oak, some vinegar and a touch of gooseberry. Quite sour, moderately fruity and and a little funky taste of lemon, vinegar, oak, gooseberry and rhubarb, followed by a medium long, rather tart, woody-dry finish. Medium body, quite astringent and rather effervescent mouthfeel, average carbonation. Quite sour but still in a pleasant way, a touch too much vinegar for my liking. All in all a refreshing thirst-quencher even if it required me to getting used to it!

fkoolen (1480) - Maastricht, NETHERLANDS - AUG 26, 2017
UPDATED: AUG 26, 2017 Bottle at home. Cloudy golden, offwhite creamy head. Sweet white grapes, peach, apricot, funk, vanilla, acidity, light tard, medium malty body. Medium carbonation.
