February 2018 - Tasting on L42, One Canada Square. Bottle shared with big thanks to Colin. As 'Demoersleutel Dolle Dries', 10%. Opaque black, big huge foamy brown head, thick lacing. Aroma is coffee, red jalapeno, red pepper, acidic espresso. Body is light, huge fizzy carbonation, instant foam. Taste follows aroma exactly – some acidic espresso, red berry, red pepper and jalapeno. Ruined by carbonation issues. Just not my thing. Poor in my opinion. Bottle shared in London - thanks to Cloin. Pours oily black with a creamy, beige head. The nose holds coffee, burnt toast, baking cocoa. Medium sweet flavour with some leathery berries, ashy roast, more baking cocoa. Medium bodied with lively carbonation. Warming finish with some espresso, charred meat, burnt toffee, ash, leather. 13Feb2018 Intense, dark malts, dark, very dark roast, bitter coffee. Hazy, very dark brown, massive, frothy, beige head. Light bitter. More bitter, dark chocolate, cacao, bitter, dark roast coffee, intense filter, soft carbonation, full bodied. Decent, intense in coffee.

Thanks to Cloin. Almost opaque dark brown beer, small pale tan head. Very airy palate, reasonable fine carbonation. Soft fluffy dark brown, some dark malts, little cream. Tangy dark chocolate. Powderey dark chocolate. Modest dark fruits. Airy finish. Not bad.
Bottle at L42 - thanks to Colin. It pours cloudy murky dark brown with a thick tan head. The aroma is rich roasted malt, tar, burnt toast, toasted almond biscotti, almond milk, coffee grounds and cocoa. The taste is dry, bitter, raw, tar, charred wood, cherry, toasted nut, vanilla, coffee cake, bit of spice, warming alcohol and burnt toast with a drying finish. Sampled from 0.375 l bottle from ’De Bierkoning’, best before October 2020. Gusher! Pitch black with a massive, fluffy, stable, beige head. Sweetish-malty, moderately roasty aroma of dark chocolate, coffee and some licorice. Quite sweet, malty, slightly roasty taste of dark chocolate, coffee, some licorice and maybe hints of almond, followed by a short, moderately roasty-bitter, a bit earthy-dry finish.
