TtV (468) - Nijmegen, NETHERLANDS - NOV 22, 2017
Bottle 37,5cl. Ink black with a tiny beige head. Heavy aroma of coffee, chocolate, sugar. The taste is rather flat at first, but slowly builds into a sweeter experience with coffee roast hints. The aftertaste kicks in with bitter chocolate and again coffee. Great beer! Best taste development I ever tasted.

At a tasting, thanks, small stable brown creamy head, opaque extremely dark brown color, aroma of teriaki and chillie with some chocolate behind, flavor of chocolate and chillie with metal and smokey hints, quite dry. Good.

Zwart met kaki kraag, schenkt als olie. Aroma geroosterde en gebrande mout, chocolade, vanille. Smaken mm veel te dun, geroosterd en gebrand, chocolade, dun en waterig, off balance en licht Zuurtje ook

37,5cl buddel bb01-2022 courtesy of local4local RW80, merci! - A pure RIS, going by the label, done with restraint. Unctuous acajoublack pour, mocha caplet. Not the most expressive aroma, even upon warming: coffee beans midlly wafting from a rubber container in a kitchen cabinet where bayleaf is also stored. Pleasant relaxed mid-oily mouthfeel, something South-Netherlandic brewers in Belgium still fail to achieve. Mostly mild "black" umami flavours: drop liquorice over some dark chocolate, then more earthy and herbal bayleaf syrup and warmed (not burnt) rubber again. Nicely integrated abv, but otherwise reticent in terms of a more distinct charm.
