3.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
UPDATED: FEB 2, 2013 Bottle:
Medium sized vast and thicker creamy head, changes slowly, on top of a hazy amber colored beer.
Smell is pretty strange: lots of rubber with flowers, yellow fruit, barleys and some spiced alcohol.
Taste is a strange mix of barleys, fruit (apricot, peach, berry, grapefruit), rubber, alcohol, spices, flowers and cream. After a while the alcohol has a pretty dominating nasty factor in this beer.
Aftertaste is fruity (apricot and peach), wheat, bitters, malts, herbs and some floral tones.
Low carbo, soft almost silky mouthfeel, medium body and a light creamy texture.
A bit out of balance, strange beer. Specially on the rubber, rubber taste and smell are not bad in beer, but not when there is much rubber in the taste and smell (and it smells like, yes, condoms)... The soft silky oily fruity side straightens it out...
75cl Bottle, bought at De Bierkoning a few years ago. Slightly hazy reddish amber colour, off-white head. Aroma of thick sweet malts, spices, bread, earthy hops, liquorice root. Flavour is quite sweet, very malty, bread, spices, raisins, quite fruity as well, liquorice root, firm bitter finish. Full bodied, quite high carbonation. Nice, but rather sweet, still. Bottle from Monks café Stockholm. Big brown lastning head. Orange brown color beer that is almost clear. Sweet caramell malt aroma. Big sweet malty taste with a big body. Smooth taste with a balanced bitterness. Stuu666 (14250) - Edinburgh, SCOTLAND - JAN 20, 2015
Bottle at home. Pours copper amber, nose is pine, peppery, citrus, taste is similar. chimpgibbon (556) - London, Bedfordshire, ENGLAND - DEC 10, 2014
Bottle. Big frothy muddy orange affair. Full on hop and cheesy funky aromas, plenty malt, spicey. Blood orange and hefty sweetness in the taste, some lemon, touch of cough syrup, more deep boozy orange. Farmhouse elements kick on late. Palate starts rich and oily then ends medium dry. Very interesting beer, maybe a little intense even for the abv. HermanW (1069) - Coevorden, NETHERLANDS - OCT 18, 2014
0,7 liter fles. @home. Een Ipa. De soort waar ik het minst van houd. Deze heeft wel veel smaak. Het schuim is snel verdwenen.

2012 bottle. Pours an orange unclear beer with a good white creme head. Smells mandarin, cream, caramel. Tastes cream, fruity, spices. Average to lively carbo, medium body and a sticky texture. A bit to old I think. But still nice. Bosbouw (2959) - Gemonde, NETHERLANDS - MAY 2, 2014
Mooie caramel kleur met een volle crème kraag. Ruikt caramel, honing, kruiden, beetje vanille. Smaakt lekker zoet, beetje crème, vanille. Iets bittere afdronk. Dikke structuur. TrappistenOli (320) - Bern, SWITZERLAND - OCT 10, 2013

Hoppin Frog Super Charged from Antioch. Brownish with a white head. Aroma has spices and malt and more spices. Very farmhouse-y. Taste has sweet tangy fruits, spices and heavy malt. Light to medium bodied. Tangy. Finishes somewhat short and sweetly spicy. Shrug? Solid for style although malty.
