On tap (keg) at The Hop Gate, Derby Saturday 10th September 2016 in the company of Dad and Pauline Dark brown in colour with a small light beige head atop, fruity beer but significantly this is first and foremost a very smokey beer, molasses and fruit in the mouth but the smokiness is present throughout. Dark brown colour on the body, one finger of thick tan head on top, with very good retention and heavy lacing left behind.
Aroma of olive pit, liquorice and plenty of milky chocolate.
Taste of dark chocolate, toasted malts, milky chocolate, some green peppers, hints of coffee with a light burn on the finish.
Medium body and good carbonation.

Tasting glass draft @ Van Moll. Dark brown, vaguely red, little lacing white head. Nose is quite umami, herbal, vegetable, molasses, vague pepperoni chilies but only because I know that they are there; taste is a bit too vegetable, herbal, molasses, thick, umami heavy, sugar, too simple & umami heavy for me, pepperoni chilies are only barely there if you look for them. Too bad, expected more. Body is thick, umami, vegetable, syrup.

On tap at Cafe Sara, april 1st 2016. Black body, tiny beige head. Aroma of roasted and smoked malt, taste is smoked ham, resembling of pepperoni, luckily no cheese, tomato or pineapple. On tap at The Bottle Shop Bermondsey. Black beer lasting tan head. Smoke dark malt aroma. Some acidity from the smoke. Some smoke meat. Damn it’s pretty good. Tasty smoke some dark fruit. Chocolate, toasted malts, lightly charred, coffee, dark grain husks. Hazy, dark brown, small, creamy, beige head. Light sweet. Sweet coffee, burnt caramel, toasted grain malts, chocolate, medium bodied, soft carbonation. Very nice Porter, intense toasted malts and chocolate flavours with some nice sweetness in the palate. Keg at Bottle Shop - Bermondsey. Pours clear brown with a creamy, tan head. The nose has some burnt toast, light cocoa, a little earth, light chilli. Light-medium sweet with nice bittersweet cocoa, mellow earthy bitterness, brown bread, faint caramel. Medium bodied with fine to average carbonation. Finishes with more chocolatey notes, light roar, hints of chilli. Nice beer.
