COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The Black Damnation series is a dark twist of Urban’s mind. His idea is to realize a dozen beers with the use of Black Albert, and over a period of two years, that are as black as hell, filty rich in the nose and with massive taste. Black Damnation is a blend with the use of Hel & Verdoemenis from Brouwerij De Molen. This is the first of the series.

50% of Black Albert was used with another 50% of H &V.

Black coloured beer with just a sliver of a dark tan head. Aroma is glorious & full of coffee, brown sugar, dark fruity chocolate. Flavours of H&V are quite evident, charcoal and mineral notes, chocolate, cocoa powder. Good coffee chocolate finish with good balancing bitterness and hops & sugar in the after taste.
2009 vintage 12% abv
2010 vintage 13% abv

weark (787) - Morges, SWITZERLAND - JUN 21, 2017

Bottle, courtesy of Toni Fluekiger, BB March 2015 - First vintage from 2010. Pours super dark brown. Aroma is strong bourbon and vanilla, some booze, coffee and chocolate. Body is heavy, but with a low but fizzy carbonation not the strong sugar bomb it could be. Sweet with only a little roast or bitterness. Palate is long lingering sweetness, continuing all the flavours. Very, very nice, ages with grace.

DWF; Bottle 75cl, drunk at Hall Toll. Pours smal to moderate, black, somewhat lacing with a fading, tan head. Nose is heavy, roasted malt, tobacco, leather, moderate coffee, chocolate, dark dried fruit and light ash. Taste is heavy sweet and bitter, balancing with a sweet leather, forever chocolate lasting finish. Body is full, texture is thick, carbonation is soft.

Bottle sample at a tasting at Max’ place. Thanks Vova? Very dark brown/black with a tan ring. Sour, gherkin aroma but then hot chocolate, carob and then beef jerky. A little sour in the mouth, bitter and deep taste, some ash and then a bit sweet chocolate. Medium-to-full body, slightly carbonated, a little oily texture, some alcohol and dry nuts.

Bottle, rated January 31. BBF March, 2014. A real gusher. Came out on it’s own. Huge brown head on top of a pitch black beer. Aroma of alcohol, plums, cocoa, hints of coffee and molasses. Thick mouthfeel with sweet flavour of chocolate and coffee notes along with a slight tart plum flavour. It settles with a roasted bitterness adding to the rather complex flavour, which seems to really come in different layers also making it simple to decipher. Great beer.

4/29/2009 10:38:50 AM Last bottle from Bierkoning. Tar black body with high rise tan head. Looks yummy. Smells sweet, of chocolate and coffee, with some stout and dark fruits in the nose. Really creamy and delicious. Very well done. Taste of toast, malts, chocolate, caramels, coffee, vanilla - take your pick - it all comes through very well. The ridiculously high ABV isn’t even noticeable. De Molen and Struise, two of my favourite brewers, surprise on the upside, once again. I can drink this all day.

Via een vriend een flesje kunnen proeven van deze eerste versie. 33cl. Best before M 2014 en op 13%. Zwart bier met bijna bruin schuim. Geur: metaal, zurig, fruitig. Smaak: koffie, zuurtje, bittertje. Afdronk: het zurige blijft met een koffie twist en wat bittertjes.
