Aroma:
Medium/heavy aroma of malts, caramel, chocolate, mocha, roasted malts and coffee.

Appearance:
Opaque black beer with a slight/medium brown/dark brown head.

Taste/Palate:
Starts medium/heavy sweet with malts, caramel, chocolate and mocha; ends slightly bitter and dry with roasted malts and coffee.

Overall:
This beer is intense, complex and balanced. So much coffee, you do not even notice the cacao nibs that much. Perfect appearance and palate as well, but the aroma could have been stronger.

Bottle at home (bottled July 28 2016). Thank you Ian. Pours dark with a tan head. Massive milk chocolate and cold coffee aroma, roasted malts, nutty. Taste is over moderate to heavy sweet, moderate bitter, long chocolate and coffee aftertaste. Nice, but a bit much in the end.

33cl bottle at home from Berts Bierhuis Biltstraat, Utrecht. Nose is tons of cocoa and coffee, slightly smoky. Body is pitch black, head is small, brownish, creamy, average lasting, good lacing. Aroma is dark roasted coffee, roasted malt, cardboard, old wood, cocoa. Light sweet, heavy bitter. Finish is long lasting roasty medium to heavy bitter, later rather hoppy, light alcohol warmth. Full body, thick oily sticky texture, soft carbonation. Bit heavy, strong flavor, very tasty, well balanced, great one.

Draught at Taphouse. Pitch black with a thin tanned head. Sweet roasted aroma with dark malts, chocolate, coffee and caramel. Taste is bitter roasted. Full body with an oily texture. Finishes dry and roasted bitter with coffee beans and dark malts. Excellent Stout, coffee beans just right in this one.

UPDATED: FEB 1, 2017 Impressive very deep brown colour that carries on into the colour of the foam. Not much foam though. Chocolate, coffee, raisins, fig bread in the smell. Full-bodied. Coffee, chocolate, fig bread, cacao, hint of grapefruit, cream. Long finish.

Borefts VIII. Keg. Opaque dark brown beer, tidy dark tan head. Smooth palate. Soft but rich dark malts, mild dark malt cream. A little emulsion paint. Mellow smooth espresso. Light spice. Smooth dry finish. Decent, just lacks a little pixie dust.
