Cafe, Wallingatan, Stockholm. Deep brown/black colour, small beige head. Aroma is licorice, mild alcohol, vanilla and some dark dry fruity notes as well. Flavour is coffee, roasted malts, licorice and a lot of maltyness. Some slight chocolate and vanilla in the aftertaste. Very pleasant.
Off menu recommendation from Greg at Birreria Paradiso. Easily the best beer of the night. Bottle 490 of 708. 5.8%. Dark ruby red, toffee aroma, light tan head that lasts forever, full mouth with flavors of burnt caramel, and a VERY late finish of espresso. Very complex. Classic English style porter. cgarvieuk (25742) - Edinburgh, SCOTLAND - OCT 2, 2009
Opps had this in the 1914 SSS location ...Doh ... Bottle at home ... brought back from the grove ... deep brown ...light fruity light smokey malt ... soft roast ... little toffee ... good deep roast ... little coffee ... omhper (25568) - Tyresö, SWEDEN - FEB 5, 2010
Bottled at Monk’s Café Wallingatan, Stockholm. Near blac, rich firm head. Dry and crisp, fairly light bodied lactic with roasty licoice and chocolate coming through the spitzy carbonation haze. Light tobacco and salty bitterness in the finish. The very heavy carbonation disguises the qualities of the beer. With champagnoise porters and flat saisons I feel I’m on a bad streak with the carbonation levels in my de Molens. madmitch76 (25382) - , Essex, ENGLAND - JUN 9, 2012

Very dark brown beer, transparent. Frothy beige head. Palate is crispy and dry, Lightly sour dark malt with a trace of lacto sweetness and smoke. Light milk chocolate. Hangs together very well. A sessionable porter this one!
