Off menu recommendation from Greg at Birreria Paradiso. Easily the best beer of the night. Bottle 490 of 708. 5.8%. Dark ruby red, toffee aroma, light tan head that lasts forever, full mouth with flavors of burnt caramel, and a VERY late finish of espresso. Very complex. Classic English style porter. 0.75 l Bottle 040 of 2008 batch - Roasted notes and cocoa on nose, red color, tan head. Palate was like a fine cup of coffee with the watery finish I associate with the style. argo0 (14127) - Washington DC, USA - SEP 1, 2008
(750ml bottle, thanks wickedpete) Clear dark brown body with small beige head. Aroma is medium sweet, chocolate, coffee, caramel, some toffee. Taste is medium sweet, coffee, chocolate, some roast. Effervescent medium body. scraff (2121) - Baltimore, Maryland, USA - OCT 12, 2008
Deep brown, off white creamy head. Cocoa berry and raisin nose warms to soft swirls of brown sugar. Dark fruit and roasted cocoa flavors ride hints of overripe plum and coffee. Medium bodied, moderate carbonation, bittersweet finish. Well made…

Bottle at Chris o New Year tasting 08/09. Cloudy dark brown, thin beige head. Really good porter. Really good beer, nice chocolate flavours and another stunning beer from this really great brewery. MesandSim (7117) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - JAN 28, 2009
A Mes rate. Bottle at Chris O’s pre NYE tasting. Dark cloudy brown with a decent beige head. Gorgeous fruity aroma with some good earthy notes and some lovely creamy alcohol. Typical De Molen flavour. Great chocolate notes with a massive hit of excellent hoppy bitterness. Slight soap hints from the alcohol but it’s really not a bad thing. Straight forward but incredibly enjoyable. De Molen can do nothing wrong for me. Hats off to Menno. oh6gdx (26488) - Vasa, FINLAND - MAR 8, 2009

Cafe, Wallingatan, Stockholm. Deep brown/black colour, small beige head. Aroma is licorice, mild alcohol, vanilla and some dark dry fruity notes as well. Flavour is coffee, roasted malts, licorice and a lot of maltyness. Some slight chocolate and vanilla in the aftertaste. Very pleasant.
Sampled on 12/12/2009. This porter pours a dark brown color from a 750ml bottle. Large sized beige foamy head. The aroma is chocolate, coffee and sweet. A medium bodied porter. The malts are chocolate, coffee, bready and sweet. The hops are earthy. Slightly sweet. Very smooth tasting. Nice balance. Good carbonation. Its nice to see some breweries reviving old recipes like this. Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is slightly bitter. badlizard (5533) - Berkeley, California, USA - SEP 2, 2010
Bock with a creamy light brown head. Good strong milk chocolate and cereal grain aroma and tasted with a roasted finish.
