Bottle. Pours hazy amber woth airy but stable off-white head. Clear aroma of hops with a subtle malty note. Intense, bitter flavour of hops with regular notes of citrus and grass. Discernible but unobtrusive alcohol presence. Rather rough aftertaste. A very nice DIPA.

Bottle from Vinmonopolet Vika. No sound when opened. Pours copper, with almost no head. Some carbonation, so it isn’t a bad bottle, luckily. Lots of grapefruit and alcohol nose. Sticky mouth feel. Thick. Bitter, but surprisingly sweet as well. Grapefruit, malt, honey, sugar, hop aroma. This isn’t the worst way to Amarillo:)

33cl bottle from Vinmonopolet Vika. Pours pretty clear deep golden to amber, with an off-white head. Hoppy aroma with pine, tropical fruits, caramel, malt and hints of citrus and dried fruits. Quite sweet and a bit like hop juice, noticable alcohol, but quite well balanced. Not as good as I remember it from some years ago, but still a decent DIPA. Medium+ body with average carbonation. Bitter aftertaste with notes of pine and hints of citrus.

Bottle from Asahiya. Soured fruit and caramel nose, grain, molasses, hay, rabbit pellets. Pretty orange/amber color. Medium caramel initial, juicy fruit and grass. Medium-heavy body. Tasty, but also fairly one dimensional. The Amarillo complements the caramel nicely. More like a barley wine than an imp IPA.

Amber with light off white head. Smells of hops and malts. Tastes of citrus, malts, hops, and bitter. Medium carbonation. ---Rated via Beer Buddy

Little hazy, orange colour with medium and quite stable head. Intensive aroma of grapefruit peel, piney and some alcohol. Taste is well balanced, some resin and caramel sweetness and lots of bitterness (citrus peel, pine). Medium carbonation and full body. Finish is warming and long. Another good one from De Molen!

Nordcore (1669) - Lyngen alps, NORWAY - SEP 12, 2013
Bottle 33 cl. Amber, hazy with a offwhite head. Lots of hoppy aroma with some sence of grapes and yeast. Nice medium Bittersweet taste with a hoppy end.

Bottle 0.75l from P&M Bonn. Opening the bottle ended in a geysir. What a gusher. Once it calmed down it poured a cloudy orange brown with fast vanishing white head. Aroma is caramel, malt, pine and some citrus. Intensive. Taste is caramel, some honey, citrus and a slight spiceness without being bitter. It’s rather sweet. Alcohol is not present for 9.2 ABV. Overall okay but too sweet and unbalanced.

Bottle at Brewberry, Paris. Pours cloudy orange color with a full cream head. Smell as well as taste is really great if you like sweetness, it definitely reminded me of marshmallow! Vanilla, honey, orange, caramel aromas with notes of yeast and cinnamon in a syrupy texture, so it’s a bit like a candy beer to me. You wouldn’t say it’s a 9.2% for that matter. Easy to drink but very interesting, it’s a beer you remember.

Deu (949) - Nantes, FRANCE - SEP 4, 2013
330 ml bottle. Pours a mahogany color with full head. Light body. Small carbonation. Aromas of toasted malts, sourdough, brown sugar, and ginger. Flavors of toffee, alcohol, raisins, pineapple, oranges, and light pine. Wonderful. Y
