3Feb2018 Sweet, dark fruits, blackberry, blackcurrant, bit of funk, dark malts, grape must. Hazy, dark brown, no head. Medium sweet. More sweet, dark, dried fruits, prunes, blackberry, blackcurrant, meat, sweet malts, soft carbonation, full bodied. Very nice taste. Bottle shared at Leighton's, thanks to The_Osprey!

Koelschtrinker (23070) - Köln (Cologne), GERMANY - OCT 23, 2016
Wenig karbonisierter, süß malziger Antrunk. Minimal herb, recht trocken, dunkle Malznoten. Eher milder Mittelteil, Holznoten, alkoholisch. Nicht übermäßig toll. 8/8/9/8/11/8

bytemesis (9814) - Sunnyvale, California, USA - APR 17, 2016
Bottle thanks to MrH, 2013 vintage. Pours clear mahogany, minimal head or lacing. Some beige bubbles perhaps. Aroma is molasses and bourbon, cocoa. Flavor is fairly sweet, molasses and bourbon again, with some chocolate and vanilla notes. Light bitterness, not much ABV heat. Medium body, creamy mouthfeel, minimal carbonation. Interesting.

mmahut (1858) - CZECH REPUBLIC - MAR 16, 2016
Bottle. Pours in cloudy dark body woth no head, no lacing. Aroma has strong whiskey character, chocolate notes, high alcohol, wood, well balanced. Taste has high bitterness, woody after taste. Warming alcohol feeling. Toffee notes. Body is full, low carbonation.

BRW (3073) - Barcelona, SPAIN - FEB 1, 2016

martjoobolut (5676) - Tallinn, ESTONIA - DEC 11, 2015
Bottle, bottled 01.2013 (shared by fatphil, thanks). Pours dark brown with beige head. The head doesn’t stay. Aroma is sweet, malt, caramel, fruits, honey, vanilla, slight bourbon. Flavor is sweet and malty, caramel, fruits, banana, spices, salt, nuts, vanilla. Finish is dry bitter. Overall: very good, but more stronge ale than ba istout for me.

sjogro (5535) - The Hague, NETHERLANDS - DEC 9, 2015
Heel erg lekker! In de caramel honing en port gedoopt roggebrood! Hmmm. Backlog from 2015/03/29.

rouhlas (4090) - Thessaloniki, GREECE - NOV 29, 2015
330ml bottle. Dark brown color with light beige head. Malty aroma, roasted, caramel, light chocolate, dark dried fruits, vanilla, wood, alcohol. Sweet and bitter taste like aroma, butter and soy sauce notes too. Light to medium almost oily body with flat carbonation. Probably a bad bottle.

JefVerstraete (3946) - Oosterzele, BELGIUM - AUG 18, 2015
Bottle @ home. Dark brown colour, almost no foam. Sweet nose of vanilla. Roasted malts, ashtray. Bit unbalanced. Also some vinous notes. Ok.

bottled on: 28.01.13 drank on: 25.07.15 L: -pours a hazy dark brown with ruby tinges and almost no,beige-coloured head -very low carbonation visible S: -plums,bourbon,faint vinegar, vanilla, coconut, raisins, figs, strawberry jam, spices, herbs T: -plums,raisins,figs,bourbon, jam, slight coffee, slight toast F: -low carbonation -full body -noticable alcohol, but not boozy O: To me,this is more a Barleywine than an Imperial Stout. And it’s great
