pivnizub (10571) - Bochum, Porúří, GERMANY - MAR 3, 2014
Bottle: Deep golden, unclear, big rocky and stable off-White head, freshly ground coffee, aromatic hops, caramel and dried fruits in the nose; quite dry bitter-sweet flavour, pretty light bodied and a bit tart; slightly lingering dry hoppy and coffeeish finish with some balancing caramel. Not bad, but surely no session beer...

Bottle at the Watford tasting picked up from de Molen. Aroma is spices, oregano, tomato sauce and spruce. Golden orange, colour with a persistent off-white head. Flavour is green coffee beans, veg and toast malt. Velvety mouthfeel with highish carbonation.

33cl bottle at the Watford tasting, thanks to Fergus for this one! It pours hazy golden with a small white head. Starts quite dry, fine hoppy, some lemon hints, some grapefruit with clear smoke notes. Finish still dry and smokey, modest bitter. Interesting indeed

Scopey (14511) - Croydon, Greater London, ENGLAND - DEC 16, 2013
Bottle consumed at the Watfordian Tasting. It pours hazy amber with a massive beige head. The nose is fresh, juicy pine, orange peel, tangerine, sherbet, dirt and roasty coffee. The taste is sherbet, orange, tangerine, earth, toast, coffee and light acidity with a dry finish. Medium body, fine carbonation and foamy mouth-feel. I like the balance. Odd, but tasty. Works for me.

Pours a hazy amber with a huge white head that launches itself at you at warp speed. Aroma of pine, spices, herbs, peppers, old coffee, a bit hoppy. Weird brew... Even though I probably won’t drink this again very soon this is a nice little experiment which I enjoyed. I love being surprised by beers like this one.

Bottle @Konttori. Dark amber color, good beige head, lace. Stong roasted coffee aroma, hayish hoppyness. Coffee beans turn to vegetably. Light bodied. Dark coffee, coffee beans - vegetables, hayish bitterness. Foamy and a bit thin. Quite similar to some Koppi Ipas.

Perhaps best described as a spicey coffee beer. It’s a nice experiment, but it’s a little bit flat.

Bottle. Golden, hazy. Nice ashy coffee on nose, peachy citrusness. Dry, light body. Bit of bisquity pale malts, citrus green hops and a light roasted coffee beans- flavour. Nice.. not stunning. Flavourful, a bit light tho on the palate.
