Small brown head. Opaque black body. Roasty licorice aroma with spicy cinnamon carraway notes. Sweet-dryish roasty cocoa and mint taste with alcoholic vanilla notes. Fullish body. Mild, hot mouthfeel. Dryish mealy licorice and cocoa aftertaste with spicy carraway notes. Lovely! Dangerously drinkable. (0.2l draft at Schouskjelleren, Oslo. Rated twice.) 50belair (3680) - Florida, USA - OCT 31, 2011
Bottle thanks to my buddy in Holland. Joan Jett black pour with a huge tan head. A bit over carbonated. Dark roasted malt and chocolate on the nose. Effervescent with chocolate, molasses, caramel, dark roasted malt, and licorice notes. I prefer the Hell & Damnation 666 base beer.... ClubGonzo (5685) - Bergen, NORWAY - OCT 25, 2011
On tap @ Schouskjelleren, Oslo. At RBNAG 11, we were lucky enough to be served this beauty from what is likely one of the last remaining kegs from the original batch, forgotten somewhere in Haandbryggeriet’s vaults. Thanks to OleR for discovering this gem in time for us! :-D Pours a pitch black oily body with a big, creamy caramel-hued head. Fantastic looks; this is pretty much the essence of what an imperial stout should look like. The aroma is complex, and as my hands and hard-dispensed patience combined warm up the glass I get coffee, licorice, wood, vanilla, cocoa, alcohol and hints of dark fruits in the back. Taste is strong, tightly fused notes of vanilla, coffee and licorice. Hints of wood, syrup, cocoa and some ashes in the aftertaste. Wonderfully complex, and extremely well integrated; this heavyweight handles its content like a ballerina! Slightly parching mouthfeel, and dangerously drinkable for the high ABV (a fact the uninitiated brother of Geokkjer would face later in the evening! :-D). Of all the beers I drank during RBNAG 11, this was the only one I ordered twice. A truly great beer. RuneStumo (2696) - Haugesund, NORWAY - OCT 21, 2011

Pours black with a light tan head. Aroma has notes of roasted malt, vanilla, oak, chocolate, coffee and bourbon. Taste is medium to heavy sweet and light bitter. Body is full, texture is oily, carbonation is soft.
UPDATED: OCT 25, 2011 On tap at Schouskjelleren. Creamy, fingerthick, brown head leaving excellent lacing over a black body. Sweet liquorice, cacao, vanilla, hints of booze, chocolate and raisins on the nose. Sweet, light bitter, light acidic flavors with plenty of roasted notes, espresso coffee, vanilla and a touch of ash as it heats. Full bodied and smooth with alco warmth, but not so much much as the alcohol content might suggest. evabeer (21) - NETHERLANDS - OCT 17, 2011
Bijna zwart bier, mooie beige schuimkraag. Chocolade aroma, caramel, vrij alcoholisch. Zoetige moutsmaak, gebrande mout, caramel, chocolade en drop. Palme (4817) - Bergen, NORWAY - OCT 17, 2011
Tap @ Schoukjelleren, Oslo. Ah, what a treat! Thanks OleR. This is a black as the night beer with a small lasting chocolate head. Lovely rich and deep aroma. Lots of roastiness, bourbon, sweet licorice, dark chocolate and some alcohol. Really nice! Lively carbonation, really full-bodied with a fizzing-creamy mouthfeel. Lovely strong flavors with lots of roasted malts, licorice, deep dark concentrated chocolate, black berries and wood. My lord! This is just fantastic in so many levels. Ends really dry with a heavy warming finish and a everlasting roasted licorice aftertaste. Damn good stuff! Sigmund (7832) - Tau, NORWAY - OCT 16, 2011
On tap at Schouskjelleren, Oslo. Pitch black colour, moderate brown head. Rich aroma of solid malts, roasty as hell, loads of oak / whiskey cask. Extremely rich flavour of whiskey cask, loads of vanilla, chocolate and roasty coffee. Very good. espenra (1017) - Kurland, NORWAY - OCT 16, 2011
UPDATED: DEC 27, 2011 On tap at Shouskjelleren in celebration of RBNAG 2011. It poured a pitch black colour with a medium big, brown creamy head. Wonderful lacing. Aroma is laden with roasted coffee, roasted malts, red berries and some hops. Some liqorice as well. Flavour is bitter in the usual stout-fashion. Roasted malts, roasted coffee and toffee. Some hops and bitter notes. There’s also notes of red fruits and spices. Short aftertaste.
